In Columbus Ohio Salvador Rendon was charged with bestiality for the inappropriate actions over a six-year period. At the time the state did not have a bestiality law. However, the case forced Ohio to pass the first local bestiality ban. Within this there would be tougher penalties on individuals that acted even though no physical harm could be proven. Also, because of this a law was passed statewide, that did not at the time already have the law within their state. This law allowed animals to have some kind of voice and for notice to the abuse and harm that can be caused. I believe this action to have equal disturbance of rape towards a person or even a child. A very controversial court case in American history was Texas vs. Johnson (1984). In 1984, a man named Gregory Lee Johnson followed a group of anti – Reagan protesters to oppose the American exploitation of third world countries. This act of rebellion resulted in the burning of the American flag. Out of a total of approximately one hundred demonstrators who were involved in this ordeal, Johnson was solely charged with a crime. Johnson was arrested under Texas law, which made the burning of the United States or Texas flags crimes. Johnson was convicted and sentenced to one year in jail and fined two thousand dollars for his crime in restitution. Texas reasoned that the police were preventing the breach of peace; consider the flag a symbol of national unity. At Johnson's court trial, he was convicted of aiding, abetting and encouraging the burning of the Texan flag. This, in turn, made Johnson guilty under Texas state law.
Back in the Liberace v. Thorson case many things were left unanswered. This showed the flaws and faults with same sex court proceedings. It showed how there were so many doubts present when going about same sex palimony litigations. The results of the palimony barely gave Thorson any of the money he originally sued for. Almost all humans want to have possession and control over their own life, they want the ability to live independently without being considered someone’s property. Many people argue that animals should live in the same way as humans because animals don’t have possession of their lives as they are considered the property of humans. An article that argues for animal rights is “The case against pets” (2016) by Francione and Charlton. Gary L Francione and Anna E Charlton are married and wrote a book together, “Animal Rights: The Abolitionist Approach (2015). Francione is a law professor at Rutgers University and an honorary professor at University of East Anglia. Charlton is also a law professor at Rutgers University and she is the co-founder of the Rutgers Animal Rights Law Clinic. In this article Francione and Charlton mainly focus on persuading people to believe in animal rights but only focus on one right, the right of animals not to be property. The article is written in a well-supported manner with a lot of details and examples backing it up, but a few counter-arguments can be made against some of their arguments.

The Animal Welfare act was created in 1996 and it 's main purpose was to establish a licensing system for animal dealers and laboratories that use dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, or non-human primates. Regan talks about how some animals are being killed and beaten, but he does not expand past describing a few animal cruelty situations. By humans controlling the lives of many animals in this world, I think humans violate animal’s moral rights and also their inherent value because they cannot live a life that is better or worse for themselves. This is true for the reason that many humans see animals merely as a mean, which means that they do not care for the life of an animal and therefore do not treat them with any value compared to the way they treat humans. Nevertheless, I agree with Tom Regan’s plan to bring light to the conversation of animal rights by acting today and speaking for the animals because they cannot speak for themselves and without humans speaking for them, rights for animals will not ever happen. Moreover, I agree with many of the points that Tom Regan made in his article “Animal Rights, Human Wrongs,” but I conclude for his argument about animal’s rights to be strong all around, he would need to make sure to broaden the variety of animals that he is talking about being restrained and killed by humans. Bestiality, having sexual relationship with non-human animals, has been a controversial topic all these years. Some think that is an abuse towards animals and that people in practice of bestiality are mentally ill. Peter Singer, writer of the article Heavy Petting, argues the otherwise. Sees ethical issues in preference utilitarian perspective, he promotes actions that fulfill the interests of people involved. As in the case of bestiality, since both human being and animals can both get the pleasure of sex, this action can be ethically moral if the sex performed is not cruel, two partners are mutually favored and that best consequences are made for the greatest number of people involved.
