Animal Abuse In Our Society

One of the most overlooked social issues in our society is simply the abuse of animals. In our society today most animal abuse victims are dogs followed by cats and other animals. In our society today many people look at animals as property and possessions. Even though legally there are yours people in this society need to understand that animals are breathing organisms that have life and feelings just like we do. So we need to try to help everyone in different communities understand what animal abuse is and when they are doing it, knowingly and unknowingly.

Animal abuse has been going on in societies for many decades and centuries. Dating all the way back to ancient times. Different animals have been abused in different places and settings. Such as homes, science labs, farms, factories and so many more places. It is reported by the HSUS (The Humane Society of the United States) that nearly 1 million animals are abused and killed in a year. Thats a lot of animals abused and killed!

Deliberate Abuse

Animal abuse can happen either knowingly or unknowingly.

Deliberate abuse( knowingly) is any abuse done on purpose to hurt a animal. Involves any type of beating, shooting, stabbing, or even in some cases setting animals on fire. Animal abusers can start abusing animals at young ages. Many people that abuse animals do it for amusement or to feel powerful about controlling something. Most of the people that deliberately abuse animals have psychological problems and need help from professional psychologists.Signs of deliberate animal abuse abandonment. Unintentional Abuse
Unintentional abuse(unknowingly) is abuse done that is not intentional or on purpose.
A lot of people commit unintentional abuse on animals and they do not know that they are doing it. It could be as simple as not bathing often, not feeding them or giving them water, or simply not making sure they stay healthy. Unintentional abuse does not take long occur, just leaving a dog locked in a car on a hot day with the windows rolled up could be abuse. Most of these unintentional animal abusers are not setting out here to abuse animals. Most are really animal lovers with pets that have gotten in situations and it has got uncontrollable. Making the situations real serious issues of animal abuse. Signs of unintentional abuse is hoarding. A person who keeps a lot animals than they can properly care for.

It is especially important to capture the sensitivity of children, who tend to experience a certain type of empathy toward animals.We could do this by providing humane education to people starting at a young age.
There are many worldwide laws that are here to protect animals. In North Carolina there is a law that say if any person should maliciously kill or caused a animal to be killed intentionally will be charged with a felon. Laws like this are put in place to help animals be protected against abusers.Of course sometimes laws like this do not convince or persuade abusers to stop the crimes.
Abuse in different societies
Even though animal abuse happens in many societies, different animals are abused in different ones. In ghettos animal abuse happens often mainly to dogs. In farms or near farmlands cockfighting occurs. In european countries, as well as latin american countries bullfighting take place. Also in Thailand and other places in Asia elephants are abused.
