For many, the quaint town of Point Clear, Alabama represents the Old South rooted in tradition, charm, and grace. Halfway down the bay and nearly hidden among oaks adorned with Spanish moss, Point Clear was founded in the early 1800s. Today, the city continues to honor its role in the Civil War, perpetuates the memories of its residents, and evolves as a greater and better place.
Fort Sumter is located in Charleston, South Carolina. The fort is in Charleston’s harbor. The fort was not even complete when the war broke out. This was a big turning point for the United States of America. It separated the north from the south, and in some cases it separated families.
There are many parallelism between Scottsboro and Maycomb, the major issue is the event that occurred during the Great Depression. The Great Depression happened after world war two and it’s a economic crisis worldwide where mostly everyone has no job and money at that time. Maycomb is town with traditional old generation because their thinking is different than the city people, they dress differently and people like Aunt Alexandra would want to teach their kids about their family name or its legacy. Everything around Maycomb is old as well, like the road of Maycomb changes color when it rains(sparknotes.com). The description of Maycomb when she recalls as an adult, makes people feel like its a slow and boring town basically. The town has hoover carts and dirt roads, this sets the readers an idea that the town must have be a poor one because of the Great Depression, where almost no one has a job and there are no money to buy things. Scout also describes how the town felt like it was more than 24 hours a day and nobody is hurrying to anywhere for there’s not really a specific place that one would go at that time(goodreads.com). Both trials in Scottsboro and Maycomb happened during the Great Depression.

The role of women in society has been a controversial one. Most religions see women as being inferior to men and are of the view that women were created as a companion for men. A lot of our social morale stems from religion; hence this help to shape the view that woman is inferior and is to be submissive to their male counterpart. Society has set roles which each sex is expected to play. Gender role is a theoretical construct in the social sciences and humanities that refers to a set of social and behavioral norms that, within a specific culture, are widely considered to be socially appropriate for individuals of a specific sex (Princeston.edu). Women are expected to be docile and agreeable, while men are expected to be head strong and opinionated. Women and men were never viewed as interdependent, the general consensus was that women were dependent on men and men were independent. With advancement and revolution this view has changed, this view is however still strong in the Muslim and Islamic society. Voltaire and Molière brought the role of women in the French society to life in their plays.
"Every young man is born with some determination in his nature, and is a potential genius." At first glance this quote produces a mix of emotions from the reader. Upon further investigation and examining the word choice one may find Emerson's statement to be completely valid. Ralph Waldo Emerson's essay titled "Education," uses the open words "some" and "potential," making the statement more realistic and ultimately true.

In comparison to the United States, Finland carries out a model of educational reform completely different. “Finnish students have no experience with high-stakes standardized testing in school, unlike their peers in many other countries where testing has become an integral element of school life” ( ). While Findland’s education system has a different view on standardized tests and follows a different form of assessing students and gathering data.
Life is unpredictable and there are an infinite number of paths for one to choose from as they journey through life. One “trail” that seems to be a popular choice to travel is that of an educator. Why is this? What makes the sharing of knowledge so special? Perhaps there is an unparalleled joy in enlightening someone else. Perhaps it is a combination of unlimited elements that drives individuals to be educators. And perhaps there is no one sure answer to these questions. One thing is for sure, our world has seen its share of tremendous and inspiring teachers come and go with the passing years and generations of people. Unfortunately, this world has also seen its share of educators who were not so noticeable and effective. Again, I ask why is this? What makes some teachers more effective and inspiring than others? Could the difference be discovered through viewing their individual philosophies on education? My personal conclusion to this question is a resounding YES. It is an educator’s philosophy on teaching that makes the difference. Up to this point in life, I’ve simply been a student of this world, but as I move forward in life I aspire to cross the line that all before me have crossed to become educators. How will I achieve this? More importantly, will my personal philosophy elevate me to become an inspiring and encouraging teacher? And most importantly, what exactly is my philosophy on education? In a general sense, I simply hope to look at each child I teach as an individual and to make the best situation for each child. I will achieve this goal by developing my own views on the nature of students, the nature of knowledge, the purpose of public education, teaching met...
The education system has been a controversial issue among educators. Requirements of school do not let student choose what they want to study for their future. It’s a big issue to force student study specific curriculums, which don’t help them improve, and what they like to create something. Educators choose a general system for education to all students which based on general knowledge. Intelligent or genius students have to be in that system of education, which doesn’t let them improve their creativity. Educators attempt to change that system to make it better, but their changing was not that great to be an example for the world. Also, did that change qualify education system to compete other systems or not? In some examples and reasons have been made me agree with some of points from Gatto’s and Edmunson’s and disagree them.
The ‘Oxford English Dictionary,’ defines education as: The UK’s education system has seen many reforms aiming to improve opportunities for children. Education was once a supreme priviledge, of which only the rich members of society would receive the right to. A significant change in the form of The Forsters Education Act 1870 began to address this, with the introduction of free compulsory schooling. At present, in England and Wales, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) states that: The UK is a democratic, multicultural and diverse nation, which prides itself on equality. Each local authority is responsible for providing and funding a cross-national education for all children from five to sixteen years old.
