1. Benefits of audiovisual aids from research:
Audiovisual resources according to Dike (1989) do not only increase the motivation of the teachers and learners; they add clarity to the topic taught and make learning more interesting. Permanent learning according to Njoku (1980) is the goal of education in that the learners should be able to retain what is taught. Audiovisual materials make learning more permanent since they appeal to more than one sense. Research by Ode and Omokaro (2007) revealed that learners retain most of what they hear, see and feel than what they merely hear. This concept bears credence to the old Chinese adage which says ‘what I hear I forget what I see I remember and what I do I know. A visual instruction

Audio-visual materials help learners use the foreign language efficiently. As Holden (1980, p. 5) asserts they can be a tool in all the stages of the lesson – presentation, controlled and guided practice and in production. Nowadays, visual aids and audio-visual aids are familiar terms in the realm of education. Chandler and Cypher (1948) listed a set of values for audiovisual aids when effectively used in teaching. The values are as follows:
1. Lessen major weakness of verbalism.
2. Humanize and vitalize subject matter.
3. Provide interesting approach to new topics and give correct initial impression.
4. Provide happy learning.
5. Economize time in learning.
6. Increase ability of retention.
7. Aid in developing keen observation.
8. Supply concrete material needed.
9. Stimulate initiative of pupils in making materials. A Comparative Study of Teaching Vocabulary through Pictures and Audio-visual Aids

During lessons, videos give students the sense that he/ she is watching TV and most of the times videos provide great animation information on topics that strikes students
Auditory learners are students that learn by being read to, so that they can get the information in their ears. They understand it better that way, they can’t understand it through their eyes. This is the importance of books being put on tape. One perspective that I learned from watching this video about students with learning disabilities is that it is very important to get to know your students, so that you can learn the best way to teach them what they need to know.

Technology has advanced our school systems and provides many new and helpful products into the classrooms. Technology has also provided specialized products for students that are hearing impaired. There is no lack of opportunities for the deaf and hard of hearing in the school system. There are many ways to innovate the way they learn.
For instance, watching a movie can enlarge someone as a visual learner, and can cover many other topics being taught, other than just one topic. In the article, Pros and Cons of Using Movies in Class, the article provides, “Sometimes a movie can include moments that go beyond what you are teaching in a lesson and allow you to highlight other important topics” (Kelly 2). Also, students can understand what they are learning and have less difficulties by the movie being a source as visual learning. To conclude, movies are also a great choice for students viewing as a class because it expands different learning styles, and can cover more than one topic that is being
Next in the triangle is the application, which the information is now used and applied by identifying connections and relationships in the content delivered. The analysis follows, with how the information identifies and delivers. Then is combination, with how the information blends and evaluates, with the final element being creating and the making of decisions that carry out the supported learning. The “Cone of Experience” shows the effects of learning with various types of audio-visual materials and how information develops in the learning process. The cone, even with being a visual aid, demonstrates how to recognize each stage from the direct experience to the abstraction. The base of the cone represents the first hand direct experience, where next on the diagram is the contrived experience, which is the model of reality or imitation of teaching purposes. Next is the dramatic participation or the mock-up of some
The relevance of dual-coding theory to this study is that according to the theory, both visual and verbal codes can be used when recalling information. However, video has enormous potential for improving learning. In addition, video-based instruction involves both visual and verbal representation of information. Moreover, video enables the students to learn Biology concept visually and verbally, also helping them to recall and remember the concept taught, which, is the essence of meaningful learning.
There are four ways to learn with the senses. They are: auditory, visual, tactile, and kinesthetic. When asking an educator whether the all the students learn the same they will say “No”. However, that knowledge isn’t brought into a classroom. A classroom is normally 90% lecture and question and answering, but only two or three students will...
Resources are designed to support us as teachers to plan, deliver and assess our teaching and lesson delivery. All the materials and books, a variation and diversification of approaches, resources used for different learning styles, in order to meet the needs of all my students were contributing to the professional development and continuing education. Preparing visual prompts to stimulate, the use of colour in my slides, always helped to stimulate the interest and emphasise the key points in my teaching. However, computer-based technology, provided opportunities to develop ICT skills. Thus, through class sessions and little practice students were developing skills to use it, and create professionally looking and visually stimulating slides. As teachers, we must be willing to encourage our students to become active participants in their learning, creating opportunities to actively engage all
Al-Fahad (2009) states that the advancement in “interactive multimedia technologies which promise to facilitate ‘individualized’ and ‘collaborative’ learning”, is playing an undeniable role in the process of language teaching and learning. Therefore this is not a new phenomenon. Teachers and researchers have always been working on this field to find a better way of using
I will try to prepare my lesson 100% to enhance learning. I will try to research my topic and try to integrate different resources and activities to make my lesson engaging and interesting to my students. I am able to use a variety of methods to teach a lesson to the students. This helps the students to get engaged visually, physically and verbally. I did not know, but I really like to use different resources and art materials to create something that will enhance my lesson and able to engage my students throughout the lesson. By creating and using a variety of methods and activities during the center time, I can meet the student’s needs to help them to learn.
Children’s artistic development can be fostered by making environments effective. Teachers are designers in this situation as they need to make practical and supportive environments for the children to engage in visual arts activities. The arrangement of the classroom furniture and use of materials should be adaptable to accommodate the needs of different activities (Wright, 2003). Teachers are provisioners as they provide a variety of resources for children to use which includes papers of different
Instead, EL students benefit in learning new content knowledge when an instructor methodically produces a lesson with a systematic I do you do approach; while purposely adding visuals whenever possible. Modeling content knowledge can be accomplished when the instructor writes the objective or provides an outline of what the lesson entails in student friendly vocabulary for each lesson where students can visually see. Next, the instructor should discuss what the end goal of the lesson is through hand gestures and changing the speed and tone of the voice to elaborate key concepts. Additionally, teachers should provide visual vocabulary whenever possible. Playing videos, word walls, or showing pictures of key vocabulary in a lesson will help students who struggle with differences in language grasp what is being asked of them more clearly. Lastly, instructor should show examples of projects and essays for reference. This will allow EL students to visualize the end product; allowing them to organize their ideas and
