Growing up as a “digital native” is both a disadvantage and an advantage and in this I will tell you why. In the article "Video Games Benefit Children" it tells about video games being an advantage because it makes kids want to be more active. In the article "Why Facebook Could Actually Be Good" Facebook is an advantage because it is letting people remice on good times when they are feeling down. In the article "Guest Opinion" it talks about kids having too much screen time and this is making them not as interactive with their parents . In the article it tells how people are going on facebook to look back at good times when they are sad or depressed. It says, “researchers argue that that could be a big boost for users who are prone to anxiety or depression by providing a healthy emotional conduit for reminiscing about the good times in one’s life. “ This means that people are looking back at good times and remembering how could things can be which is lifting people's spirits. In this article, being a digital native is a disadvantage because the average student is getting an astonishing 7.2 hours per day which is way too much for any person to have in just a single day. In the article it says, “research also shows that babies and preschoolers who spend more time in front of a screen spend less time interacting with their parents and less time in creative play — activities that are essential for learning and development.” This means that young children are becoming less and less developed and not as creative. Also, it is saying it will effect the children once the get into school because they will not be as developed as the kids who don't get as much screen time. Some people even suggest that we are throwing away our future because young children are getting too much screen time but others say that it is making kids smarter. Using the internet as an easy shortcut for things lacks the experiences that children need to develop correctly. There must be a balance of internet and the real life, hard copy form of things for people to really form independent ideas and feelings based on the vast experiences of going to a concert or reading a heavy, worn out, and loved book under a tree that the online version cannot provide. It is experiences like these that help develop motor and sensory skills that are crucial to child development. According to Cris Rowan, the author of “The Impact of Technology on the Developing Child,” the “four critical factors necessary to achieve healthy child development are movement, touch, human connection, and exposure to nature. These types of sensory inputs ensure normal development of posture, bilateral coordination, optimal arousal states and self-regulation necessary for achieving foundation skills” (Rowan). Social media takes up a huge part in our lives. Social media infest us with information that is significant and insignificant to us. In the journalist Maria Konnikova’s article “How Facebook makes us unhappy?”, Konnikova divulges many aspects of people on social media through researching and experience, and finds how social makes us unhappy. She assumes that Facebook is playing a huge role in electronic communication.. I agree with Konnikova findings after reading her article. In addition, she concludes that if you are engaged, active, and creative you will not sorrowful on Social media. However, if you are passively browsing and refuse to engage, you will be depressed.
In many literary works, Symbolism is used to reveal themes and messaged. Shakespeare's Hamlet is not an exception to this, as we see many themes and messages revealed through various symbols in the play. Technology is so easy for the youth to access and there are many things that affect children through the use of technology. Children can misuse technology by accessing inappropriate materials, most kids today have smart phones and are able to access this so easily. My generation is more prone to the misuse of technology because they have grown up with it and it has been apart of their childhood. These accusations are far from the truth. In my research I found that there are many positive effects of gaming. Some of these effects are increased skills, creativity, general knowledge, and also help those in need. Parents can also take proper precautions and look into a game before buying it to see if it meets the criteria discussed in this paper.

How much technology can improve or distract from these essential skills varies with age. The impact and implications of technology tools on young children has been studied and researched through the Let’s Move Childcare initiative and results concluded that little to no “screen time” is preferred for children under the age of two.
