This story begins in small town in the backwoods of Wyoming that only exists because it serves as a pit stop for truckers. The people in the story is a group of four friends that don’t really fit in with the rest and their names are Will, Ayden, Zach, and Peyton. One day after school they go to their usual place to hang out which is an abandoned gas station which no one really knows why it was abandoned because it got a lot of service. When it closed it had some bad luck a week before it closed. “Now the voice said that we need to hold the note up to a light and the it will say how to destroy the paw” explained Will. Peyton used his phones flashlight to see what was on the note and the note said “The only way it can be destroyed is by to make a four leafed clover and place the paw in the center and say this phrase take this object back from the fiery place from whence it came”. “who’s up for some black magic?” Ayden asked. “We are in” the rest of them replied. “ Good because we have just crossed the line of no return so no backing out now” said Ayden. While that was happening the town came upon some very bad luck when a freak windstorm came out of nowhere that had one hundred mile an winds that some was flipping cars, blowing down trees, and power lines. After the group got the spray paint and made the four leaf clover and put the rabbit’s foot in the middle of the clover then they said the spell. When they finished saying the spell a red light come from the clover shape and the ground was shaking violently . “what is happening?” yelled Will. “ I don’t know I think it is destroying it” replied Peyton. As he finished saying it the paw exploded and sent them all flying backward. “Is it over?” asked Zach. “I think so.”replied Ayden. Where the paw used to be there was a small crater the size of a basket ball. “Wake up time to get out of bed” said this mysterious voice. Then all of them woke with a start and it was all a shared dream that they all had at the same time. “That dream was so vivid it was like it was real” said Peyton. “I know I felt the force of the explosion knocking us back” exclaimed Zach. “The confusion when we all failed the test” pronounced Ayden. “So does this mean we know that mean is real?” asked Will. “Yes it is” said this mysterious voice that they all heard at the same
On the first week at Grandma’s, a man named Shotgun Cheatman died. Everyone in the town went to the funeral because he was the well known assistant to the Mayor. The funeral was held in Grandma’s house and a creepy thing happened that night when Tom the cat crawled inside the casket. The next day, Joey, Mary Alice and Grandma left the house and walked across fields of tall grass and “cow pies aplenty” to Salt Creek to go fishing. They found an old wooden boat and Grandma rowed the boat out into the creek. While on their fishing adventure, they encountered a cottonmouth snake that fell into the boat and a party of drunken men on land dancing in their underwear.
For the mass population of pet owners, pets are considered a treasure, so the conversation of how much is to be spend on them is a hot debut. I do agree with Burkhart Bilger's Argument that, “Our love affair with pets our pets has gotten out of control.” but I contend with the ideal that it is a widespread problem. I still insist that owners should show attention and love to their pet but so without the overspending in regards to your income. This topic is brought up in Bilgers’ article “The Last Meow” where he uses different facts, examples, and stories that back up my position.

Gally then said, “What is that thing?” Thomas told him, “I don’t know I found it when I killed the griever.” Gally surprisingly said, “You killed a griever?” Tomas told him, “Yah but I didn’t know I could even do it in the first place, but if I wanted to live I had to.” Chuck then came running up to the to them and said, “The girl woke up and she wasn’t too fond of where she was and she has a knife as well so you better hurry up.” So Thomas and Gally got there the girl was yelling, “Get back now!” But when Thomas got there he said, “It is alright just put the knife down. In order to compare and contrast the ending of the short story “The Monkey’s Paw” by W.W. Jacobs and the ending of Ricky Lewis, Jr’s film adaptation, one must think about all of the differences and similarities in both versions. The short story and film, both contain Mother struggling to open the door. In film there is a scene towards the end, showing a shadow, which frightens the audience, move across Herbert’s grave. This scene does not exist in the text although, it does appear in the movie.
...a seat next to me on the soft, blue rug. “It’s okay, I know how you feel. I felt the same way when I was forced out of my book and left in a new world”, Abby said sympathetically. “You mean I was right?” I said, slowly lifting my face to the light, my cheeks red and my face damp from my salty tears. “Yes, and you must help me get out of this place. I don’t belong here. It’s just that every time somebody reads my book, I am forced out of it. You see, my book wants me to leave for a while. That reason I do not know why. But I do know that you are the only one that can help me back to my home. I will need three stars, four tears of a puppy and a monkey’s paw. That is what my book requires from me at this dimension. So will you help me?” Abby says, her eyes glittering of hope. “Sure,” I say. After all, she is now my friend and she did confess so I see no problem there.

The child’s game had ended. After I nearly ran Kurtz over, we stood facing each other. He was unsteady on his feet, swaying like the trees that surrounded us. What stood before me was a ghost. Each layer of him had been carved away by the jungle, until nothing remained. Despite this, his strength still exceeded that of my own. With the tribal fires burning so close, one shout from him would unleash his natives on me. But in that same realization, I felt my own strength kindle inside me. I could just as easily muffle his command and overtake him. The scene flashed past my eyes as though I was remembering not imagining. The stick that lay two feet from me was beating down on the ghost, as my bloodied hand strangled his cries. My mind abruptly reeled backwards as I realized what unspeakable dark thoughts I had let in. Kurtz seemed to understand where my mind had wandered; it was as though the jungle’s wind has whispered my internal struggles to him. His face twisted into a smile. He seemed to gloat and enjoy standing by to watch my soul begin to destroy itself.
Conflicts can happen to everyone and can be as small as not being able to open a "water bottle or even as big as dealing with a disease. There are many types of conflicts such as internal, supernatural, and external conflicts. Conflicts happen daily and they are meant to be resolved. In "Ashputtle" by Jacob & Wilhelm Grimm, Ashputtle's mother is the conflict since she is rude to Ashputtle and prevents her to go to the ball. In "The Monkey's Paw" by W.W. Jacobs, the monkey's paw creates some conflicts for whoever uses it to make a wish. In "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Ray Bradbury, a nuclear bomb creates a deathly conflict. Conflicts can change people in many ways such as overcoming obstacles, punishment for disobedience, and death.
