Gone, a fictional book written by Michael Grant, is about how all people over the age of fifteen disappear and the only people left are children who are developing superpowers. The book takes place in present time California and within a circular barrier called the “FAYZ”. The events take place in a town, a desert, a forest, and the Pacific Ocean.
Throughout the book there are many different characters. The most important characters are: Sam Temple (main character), Astrid Ellison (a very smart kid from school), Pete (Astrid’s younger brother who has autism), Caine (the leader of a group of kids from the Coats Academy school), Drake (a kid from Coats Academy who serves Caine), Lana (a girl who gets captured by coyotes), and Pack Leader (a coyote

Other characters, such as Sam, then start to notice adults disappearing. Sam notices when his ninth-grade history teacher disappears during class. At the same time, Lana Lazar rides in a truck with her grandfather near a desert when her grandfather disappears as he is driving. As a result, the truck crashes and Lana breaks her arm and leg.
Characters in the book start to notice that they are gaining powers. Sam notices that he has the power to shoot green light out of his hands. Sam discovers this ability when he tries to save a little girl, but instead the green light kills her. Lana has the power to heal. She learns this when she touches her broken leg and arm and they heal. Pete also has powers, but they aren’t well defined except that he can teleport. Caine has the power of telekinesis; he is able to move objects with his mind. On top of their powers, Sam and Astrid find an impenetrable barrier that seems to go up forever.
Along with the humans, there is also a pack of talking coyotes. Lana confronts a coyote and when it charges at her a flying snake attacks the coyote saving her. However, later the coyotes capture Lana in a mine shaft and drag her out. The talking coyotes keep her as a prisoner and Pack Leader says “Darkness” commands him to keep her because she can teach them to kill

Sam, Lana, Astrid, and Pete are captured by Drake again, but Sam uses his power to shoot and burn Drake’s arm off. Drake then kidnaps Lana so he can make her heal his arm. While this is happening, Sam and Astrid figure out that Pete made all the adults disappear and he created the barrier, but because of his severe autism, he is unaware that he was causing the disappearance of the adults. Drake and Lana are captured by the coyotes, and when they enter a mine shaft “Darkness” makes Lana heal Drake’s arm. When the arm heals it is long and “whip-like”.
Sam and Caine fight and while this is happening, Sam disappears because he turns fifteen. Time stops for Sam and he sees his mother. Then Caine turns fifteen joining Sam. Eventually, the kidnapper throws down another victim. Rainie was horrified to realize that it was a small boy. Now she can’t escape herself, she has to help the boy escape. With every failed escape, she is beaten even worse. The kidnapper finally had enough and decided to kill them. He fills the basement with water until he thought that they were dead. Fortunately, Rainie and the little boy escaped. The boy ran past the attacker while Rainie threw the attacker into the basements. They

...rother. Ben also matures as he leads Squad 53 in Camp Haven. In addition, he also learns to love Sammy when he thought he could never love anymore. Sammy grows the most throughout the book. He goes from the epitome of a scared child to a brave young soldier with the help of Ben. He becomes the squads’ quickest member and acts as an asset to the team. The Silencer, who has been ascribed by The Others, learns to follow his gut and join the humans. Each character was changed for the best as the book ended.
The first main character is Samantha Keyes, also known as Sammy. Sammy has a great personality. She's very spunky, creative and curious about everything. She will always try to invest into something and learn more about it. She lives with her grandma, because her mom went to hollywood to try to become successful as an actor. She has some really close friends, like Dot and Marissa, but a lot of people at school don’t get her and make fun of her. The next main character is Ritas Keyes or “Grams”, Sammy's grandmother. Sammy
The movie revolves around Maddie (Seigel) who at age 13 developed bacterial meningitis and as a result developed vocal paralysis and became Deaf. The movie explores the situation behind her being under attack by an unknown serial killer. When the killer sees her he believes that she will be easy prey. Critics assist this theory by calling the movie a “suspenseful cat & mouse thriller” ().
In the story the most important character is Lesley. Lesley is a spoiled, pretty, Jewish, fourteen year old living in Canada. As the story progresses we see Lesley change to a caring and mature person by overcoming the differences in her new life. Two other important characters are Nat Shelby and Mustapha. Lesley’s father, Nat Shelby is the person who decided the family needed to live in Israel. Mr. Shelby decides he doesn’t want his daughter growing up as a spoiled uncaring princess. Mustapha, other important character, is an Arab boy who Lesley watches abuse his donkey across the Jordan River. All the Jews are not supposed to hate Arabs, but Lesley however comes in contact with Mustapha by the river and talks to him as a person not as an enemy. Mustapha made Lesley a more understanding person towards different kinds of people. The character I would most admire is Lesley for her ability to adapt to a new home, country and way of life.
He then finds his long lost 14-year-old daughter, Angela, and challenges his disorder while developing a close relationship with her.
