The sound of the howling winds draws me back to reality. I stay still as a statue, eyes closed with my head resting against the crook of my elbow. The ache in my back throbs yet I cannot resist the urge to stay folded over my desk, soaking in the sound of the rain drumming against the roof. Melodic and calming. My heavy eyelids strain as I force them open and through the spidery thin strands of my hair I make out the sight of the sky. The sight of dark, gloomy, tar coloured clouds welcome me. With a groan I peel myself off my desk unfolding like a blooming flower. My head feels like it is filled with cotton balls as I sit up. Stretching my arms over my cloudy head I harshly awaken my unused muscles. While waiting for the laptop to show signs of life I drain the last of my once steaming mug of heaven. The coffee slides down my throat to my stomach like a cold snake, making my muscles tense up from the sudden cold intrusion. With a happy chime the laptop displays a breathtakingly beautiful picture of a beach. Through the picture the sun shines brightly high in the sky giving the photo almost a golden glow. The sand, pure and white appears soft even through the photo and is contrasted by the clear dark blue water. And then there is me standing with my back away from the beautiful background, wind blowing through my hair and me mid laugh. The pride resurfaces as I remember when the photographer told me that that was the best candid photo he had ever taken. My mind travels back to those moments. I can almost feel the warmth on my face from the beaming sun and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore when
