Close your eyes and think of yourself laying in the nice warm sand right aide of the ocean. You hear the waves crashing against the coast as everything on your mind just slowly disappears. It just simply doesn’t get better than that. When you think of the Beach, a lot of people picture different places in their minds. When I picture the beach, it’s a place not too far from home, it’s the shores of Maryland and Delaware. I often find myself daydreaming of Ocean City. I believe it’s just because I was around the beach so much while growing up, that it’s just a second home to me. When this project was presented to me, I was told that we needed to pick a topic. I didn’t think for very long because immediately the thought of me getting to share my personal experience on the beaches with the rest of the class jumped out at me! Sure a lot of people may not like the beach, but what I hope to accomplish with my map is that people are interested so much that they want to give it another try or even try it …show more content…
I knew that I wanted to be able to mix the perfect combination of my opinion and factual information to grab the reader’s attention. If I were to put too much opinion into each of the topics, I knew it would become boring and people wouldn’t get to know the information that they wanted to. On the other hand, if I was to add too much factual information into my ideas people would be led off and just become bored. They wouldn’t be able to establish a personal connection with the text. In my opinion a paper that is primarily based on factual information is just annoying. If I wanted to read facts on a specific place, I would look it up online or even look in a travel brochure. This resource (My Map) here gives the readers some personal insight into what these places are like for families with children or elderly couples who don’t want to be mixed in the wrong
Semaphore is a classic Adelaide beach supporting many facilities. However, this would not be the case if coastal management was not put into progress. Coastal management is a way of supporting the world’s coasts, by using many techniques from construction of structures in which prevents wave energy from reaching the shore to planned strategies. Factors of this includes; rising sea levels, erosion, long and short term drift, sand movement and marine biology. The importance of coastal management is quite significant as it will help to prevent coastal erosion. In addition to this, without coastal management the world will be affect economically, environmentally as well as socially. Without the strategies involving the management of the coast,
Section One - On the Beach Question 1: At the beginning Moira Davidson drinks a lot of Alcohol (alcohol). She is sad and angry because she can’t understand why the Australians have to pay for other people’s faults. John Osborne blames Moira to drink (for drinking?) too much to escape from reality.
The smell of the restaurants faded and the new, refreshing aroma of the sea salt in the air took over. The sun’s warmth on my skin and the constant breeze was a familiar feeling that I loved every single time we came to the beach. I remember the first time we came to the beach. I was only nine years old. The white sand amazed me because it looked like a wavy blanket of snow, but was misleading because it was scorching hot. The water shone green like an emerald, it was content. By this I mean that the waves were weak enough to stand through as they rushed over me. There was no sense of fear of being drug out to sea like a shipwrecked sailor. Knowing all this now I knew exactly how to approach the beach. Wear my sandals as long as I could and lay spread out my towel without hesitation. Then I’d jump in the water to coat myself in a moist protective layer before returning to my now slightly less hot towel. In the water it was a completely different world. While trying to avoid the occasional passing jellyfish, it was an experience of
For spring break of 2011, my family decided to go to California on vacation. Matthew served his mission there, and he wanted to show us Southern California. Of course, since the closest we had ever been to a beach was Jefferson Lake in Rigby, the first thing we set out to do upon landing in Los Angeles was locate a beach on the ocean. We parked our rental van at Manhattan Beach and ran to the clear water.
When I looked out onto the ocean my parents told me that the first words that came out of my mouth were, “Look mom, dad it’s a huge swimming pool!” I bet anyone can guess what happened next; I took off on a mad dash right into the ocean. The thing is, it was nothing like a swimming pool, but it seemed so much better. Over time, I became fascinated with all of its characteristics and still, I am unbelievably captivated by the ocean. When I found out about our multi-genre research paper and how we could pick absolutely any topic we wanted to write about, I had no idea what to choose.
As I walk towards the ocean with the sand warm beneath my feet, the waves lap at my ankles, seeming as if they want to pull me out to sea. The sun rises over the horizon, reflecting off the waves and shimmering like gold. The salt air smells tangy as it stings my nose with the smell I crave while I am away from the ocean. The Outer Banks in North Carolina has been my favorite place to go from my first memories. I look forward to going there every summer because there at the ocean I feel at home. It is a place where I can forget every stress in my life and be totally at peace. It is a place where my family can spend time together, not like at home where we all have activities and places to be. The Outer Banks is not a beach where the ocean is forgotten; there is no partying and no boardwalks, nothing but nature to fill your days there. The beach is not crowded to the point where it is hard to even walk to the beach ,and looking for shells is not even an option. This beach is a very peaceful and surreal place. The noises of people do not overwhelm you at this beach; all you can hear are the sea gulls and the waves.
“My imagination was shaped by the marvelous nature of mountains in a cold Olympic peninsula; by the sound of birds in the feather of cotton cloud , by the tactile sensation of serene earth, became warm when the sun appear; by ranges of cattails, mapel, and pretty towns piled beside a gorgeous lake at dawn; by encountering the earthy from flower gardens at the edge of the sidewalk; by the aftermath of a Pacific NorthWest rain pouring a dry, rough land.” This example of mine shows how important that a place helps me to shape my imagination and feeling. Many people may not think that a regional detail plays a very important role in our life. In reality, regional detail is one of the greatest factors that shapes human identity, personality and

The beach offered a perfect spot to nestle in the warm sand and relax after swimming. In my childhood, I constructed sand castles. The water washed across the sand and formed little ripples on the beach. With my little hand, I grabbed the wet sand. The sand drizzled from my hands and formed the towers of drip castles. I would dig into the sand and carved out a small moat around the castle. After the night, the tide swept away the sand castles and the beach returned to its previous form. Also, I swung on the beach. While on the swing, I watch the sunset. The sunset formed a palette mix of pink, orange and brown. The blue waves of Lake Michigan stretched for miles beyond the sight of the naked eye. The Lake spread as far away as the ocean. I frequently wondered if anyone, except a superhuman could see the other side of Lake Michigan. A different activity on the beach was beach volleyball. As a child, I lacked athletics fitness but enjoyed the occasional beach volleyball game. Other people on the beach joined in the fray and people moved in and out the volleyball game. The memories of the beach hold a special place in my
Due to the extremely hot weather in Florida, one of the most popular places to visit are the beaches and pools. I believe going to the beach is better than the pool. There are so many beaches in South Florida it is just astonishing! For many people that do not live in Florida, going to the beach for the first time is an exciting and memorable moment for them. Just imagine their anticipation coming to Florida and hearing all the good news about the beaches! They are not going to be interested in going to the pool. Come on! Not only are the beaches loved by the people who do not live in Florida but even Floridians love their beaches. There are many people that enjoy going to the beach to relax or wake up super early to watch the breathtaking sunset. You have reached the beach and while you are walking, your toes sink into the warm, silky, light brown sand. Once you have set your towel on the sand and you have applied
The beach is one of the most popular vacation spots. At the beach, some of the most popular activities are reading and playing in the ocean. People enjoy reading on the beach because of the calmness and warmth. The atmosphere is usually calming because of the waves. People find the waves to be relaxing and the sound of the waves enables them to be more focused.
Walking on a land of gold, the sand being so soft and smooth, glistens as it reflects the suns rays with joy. Cool, light and refreshing, the breeze gently eases up against my skin and glides through my hair, sending a gentle shiver up my spine. The rustling of leaves, small array of birds and delicate splashes of the sea are amazingly soothing and relaxing. The whole beach itself looks like a painted picture with a spectrum of colours all merged with one another. The sea also showing off a wide range of colours that reflects of the surface, like a dancing peacock showing off its finely detailed feathers.
A mere glimpse of the ocean through the trees changed my life. It was 6 A.M. on a Saturday in July when I saw it. Typically, my mind is whirring with thoughts and anxieties, never ceasing or quieting, but for this, they went silent. The Bay Area of California was my childhood fantasy. Other girls wanted to be princesses; I wanted to watch the fog swim across the ocean from the Ferry Building, holding my grandpa's hand and inhaling the San Francisco air.
Ever since Sunset Beach has been officially opened to the public, there has been a drastic increase of tourists present. Television programs concluded that at least a thousand people visit the beach everyday. Reasons for their stay are that they feel comfortable with the environment that surrounds the beach front, people who are at the beach are joyous and numerous activities to enjoy, and the fresh scent of the sparkly waters, make the visitors feel calm and pleasurable. So I decided to take a trip there.
I use any excuse to walk along the ocean, especially alone and without my phone. The wind blew cold air, but the sun’s warm rays kept my body at a perfect temperature. It was three in the afternoon and I was calm.
