The waves are crashing. The sun is setting. People are laughing and
embracing under the sunset. I feel the sand squish slowly through my toes
as I gaily walk down the shoreline of the Outer Banks. My all time favorite
place to be is the beach. The weather at the beach is the most quarreling
of all places in the world. One minute you are relaxing lazily on the sandy
seashore reading a most invigorating book. I sit engrossed and allow the
foamy mist from the rampant ocean spray your face lightly as though it was
the touch of a feather. Off in the distance the sun begins to set in a
sleepy unhurried fashion. It is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen.
The colors swirl together in a muddled mass across the sky. Crash! Flash!
The sky turns wild. Lightning hurls itself across what was once the tame
uncaring heaven.
Thunder booms while the atmosphere relieves itself of unwanted moisture. A
violent explosion of heavenly emotion has replaced my peaceful evening. What
could be more exciting than living in a place where your plans could be
intruded upon so abrasively by a cause you cannot control?
Sand castle building is the most enjoyable and childish activity available
to people over the age of ten. Building sand castles is a very creative
process. First, I have to decide what type of architecture I am going to
construct my castle around. The architecture can be old-fashioned,
contemporary, or even imaginary. Next, I mus...
There are many different types of coasts that exist throughout the United States. The south shore of Long Island has a unique types of coast known as a barrier beach. Barrier beaches are long narrow land forms that are composed of sand and other lose sediments. These sediments are brought together by the actions of waves, currents and storm surges. Barrier beaches are subject to constant changes by the same forces. Sand is constantly eroded in one area an deposited in another. Barrier coasts are important for a number of reasons; they protect the mainland of Long Island from the open ocean and flooding during storms, for recreational use and the unique ecosystems which exist on barrier beaches.
Soft white sand, crashing waves and the hot sun are on the list for those who want to be in paradi...
Section One - On the Beach Question 1: At the beginning Moira Davidson drinks a lot of Alcohol (alcohol). She is sad and angry because she can’t understand why the Australians have to pay for other people’s faults. John Osborne blames Moira to drink (for drinking?) too much to escape from reality.
If you were forced to pick your paradise, where do you think your thoughts would take you? Would you go to the quaint wooden cabin in Michigan that has been in the family for years? Or would you think of your cozy apartment a top a skyscraper in your favorite concrete jungle? Without a second thought, my mind rushes to Pawley’s Island, South Carolina. As locals describe it best, the “elegantly shabby” beachside town 40 minutes from Charleston has been my chosen vacation spot since childhood. Between the hammock shops, crabbing in the creeks and ghost stories, there is always something to entertain you on the island. With only the best memories there, never did I think that there would be something to hold me back from indulging in the lazy beach bum lifestyle.
A quiet secluded place one can rest and relax, a place to get away from it
As I walk towards the ocean with the sand warm beneath my feet, the waves lap at my ankles, seeming as if they want to pull me out to sea. The sun rises over the horizon, reflecting off the waves and shimmering like gold. The salt air smells tangy as it stings my nose with the smell I crave while I am away from the ocean. The Outer Banks in North Carolina has been my favorite place to go from my first memories. I look forward to going there every summer because there at the ocean I feel at home. It is a place where I can forget every stress in my life and be totally at peace. It is a place where my family can spend time together, not like at home where we all have activities and places to be. The Outer Banks is not a beach where the ocean is forgotten; there is no partying and no boardwalks, nothing but nature to fill your days there. The beach is not crowded to the point where it is hard to even walk to the beach ,and looking for shells is not even an option. This beach is a very peaceful and surreal place. The noises of people do not overwhelm you at this beach; all you can hear are the sea gulls and the waves.
All of this got me thinking that by this summer I may not be in the islands, but I can let my imaginations take me to my imaginary destination and when I do I will just lay on the grass and close my eyes as I face the sky and let the breeze hit my skin and just dream as I am back home. As I dream I am to rest on a beach with my family until dawn and see the beautiful colors in the sky and live a soulful life without having too think about any
On the Gulf Coast Of Florida sits Rosemary Beach, a planned community. The Town was founded in 1995, and spans 105 acres (42 hectares). Rosemary Beach has over 400 homesites, and a city centre with shops and restaurants. Not surprisingly, relaxing and enjoying the warm outdoors are popular pastimes in this community. Its residents like to swim or soak up the sun at the beach, go fishing, and go biking. Heading to the spa for mani or a facial is also a popular activity, as is shopping at the independent stores in town. There’s plenty to do in Rosemary Beach, and it’s all within walking distance!
A new day has begun. Slowly ascending into the cold dark sky, the sun glows vibrantly with delight. The passionate colours fill the sky with warmth like the pink grapefruits, zesty lemons, citrus oranges and cherry red. The sea so subtle sparkles preciously as it strolls up against the shore. The crystal water that stretch out far into the horizon gets darker and deeper but stays very calm.
up a rocky path. Immediately I feel like I am in nature. I am reminded of all
Vacation time is the best time. More than likely during that time I can be found laid out on the beach or frolicking in the waves. The one place I would choose for a perfect vacation destination rests in the country of French Polynesia. That beloved destination is the small island of Bora Bora. It is absolutely stunning.
Ever since Sunset Beach has been officially opened to the public, there has been a drastic increase of tourists present. Television programs concluded that at least a thousand people visit the beach everyday. Reasons for their stay are that they feel comfortable with the environment that surrounds the beach front, people who are at the beach are joyous and numerous activities to enjoy, and the fresh scent of the sparkly waters, make the visitors feel calm and pleasurable. So I decided to take a trip there.
