Despite the fact that life in the palace would have been wondrous and splendid, it did not hurt the bishop very much to move into a smaller house, for Christian charity is all about being caring, especially to people in need. A few years later, the bishop performs another humane act. Jean Valjean, a wandering ex-convict, is in Dignes and is seeking a place to spend the night. The inn refuses to offer service, and all the residents of the town lock their doors in fear. In the end, after hours of desperate search for shelter, Valjean finds himself at the door of the gracious bishop begging to be let in. A few seconds later, the bishop responds, “‘Monsieur, sit down and warm yourself; we are going to take supper presently, and your bed will be made ready while you sup’” (16). The bishop had every reason to not trust the potentially threatening stranger and shut his door as well. The first example of Gatsby's belief that money can buy his happiness is when Nick Carraway describes the subdivision in which he lives, West Egg. The subdivision across the water is East Egg. The houses are very luxurious to say the least. On the other hand, there is a distinction between the two. The West Egg house are more recently built and are elaborately decorated, where as the houses in East Egg are still as big but very conservative in architecture. The two neighborhoods represent the division in the upper class at this time in America. During the 1920's, the conservative "old rich" despised the "new rich". A good example of an "old rich" family would be the Rockefellers, where as a "new rich" family would be the Kennedys. The East Egg represented the conservative money of the "old rich". For generations their money passed down giving them the belief that the "new rich" with their newly acquired wealth were still lower and not equal to them. The "new rich" liked to display their wealth in lavish ways that the conservative wealthy did not approve. In addition, the "new rich" often did not earn their money in legitimate ways; most earned their money from boot legging. Carraway in an ironic way is neither "new rich" nor "old rich". He lives in a rather modest house compared to Gatsby's huge mansion. Gatsby owns a huge house but is the only person living there besides some servants. Gatsby tries to use the house to win the happiness and respect from others. Another reason for the house is to hide the way in which he really makes his money.
When we are little, we all dream of having big fancy houses, lavish cars and everything else that money can buy. However, we find that when people have this kind of lifestyle they are often broken and wanting a kind of life that you cant purchase. “Rich Kids” by Judah and the Lion, describes a life of wealth but not in the money sense. They talk of how we spend most of life trying to become rich and live these extravagant lives, when those material things will never bring us real joy. And now - staggering facts about the prolonged abuse from playing football can cause a mind-altering disease, called chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

My opinion about the fact is that the percentage is way to high and really needs to be addressed to the public. The Boston Globe a famous newspaper did an article about how they are finding the same type of brain damage identified in 14 deceased pro football players has also been found in veterans who endured bomb blasts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Time magazine has also done an article about concussions and it says that depression studies are showing retired football players are showing a lot more signs of depression than the average human being. People argue the fact that there no proven evidence about how concussions don't affect you physically, mentally, and socially but it's just denying and not being able to accept that football is a dangerous and unpredictable
Football is a dangerous sport, in fact, retired NFL players are 19 time more likely to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease of any other similar memory loss diseases, found by a recent study by the university of Michigan. CTE a disease that Acura as a result of constant head injuries and contact, and has been growing rapidly in the NFL. The NFL has been denied giving the many claims that CTE has a direct connection with professional football, until recently. The NFL has been taken to court multiple times over the topic of CTE. As recently as 1994 the NFL was telling their players that there was no proof that concussions caused long-term damage to the brain. Sadly, for these studies to be observed former players had to pay the price. Junior Seau, a 12-time NFL Pro-Bowl linebacker for the San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots was diagnosed with a degenerative brain disease when we committed suicide. CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) is found in individuals with a history of concussions that cause memory loss, aggression, confusion and depression. Stephen Covey is the author of several books that have dominated the business world, and everyone for that matter. In fact, according to Martin’s (2012) article, Covey’s book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People has sold over 25 million copies and over a million audiobooks. There is a large percentage of Fortune 500 companies that turn to this book for its advice that Covey points out as were the reasons behind efficacy of good behavior; he often is found stating that he believed everything in this book was knowledge everyone already knew, but just did not practice. I personally chose to cover this book due to my undergraduate degree being related to business; I wished to share it with others and hope to spread the impact it can make by pointing out the obvious. I also was given this book upon graduation, but never paid much attention to it, it has been ignored for far too long and I am working on incorporating these habits into my daily life.
The stores are tying to crack down on shoplifters by making the punishments as strict as possible. Shoplifting effects the community in a big way. The stores get about three cents per every dollar purchased for an item. So if you figure that they don't make a whole lot of money out of profit. Every shoplifter that takes a product also is taking the product, which costs money by the store so that is also a set back and puts them more in debt. Some stores might even close down because of shoplifters making the store go bankrupt.

They have more than enough money for compared to an average family, but they want more and more.
