The main points of provision five of the ANA code of ethics are as follows: section 5.1, which is moral self-respect, suggests that nurses must care for themselves as much as they care for their patients. Nurses must do their best to maintain professional respect to themselves in regards of their competence and moral character. Section 5.2, which is professional growth and maintenance of competence, suggests that nurses must continue to self and peer evaluate themselves throughout their careers. Nurses must continue to learn current, up to date nursing practices through self, peer, and higher education. Section 5.3, which is wholeness of character, suggests that nurses must develop and take into consideration their own moral perspectives when practicing in their careers. Nurses are encouraged to express their moral viewpoint when it is helpful to the recovery of their patients, but must never express moral beliefs based on social stigmas that could negatively affect patient outcomes.
I believe that every company should encourage a relationship of trust, loyalty, honesty, and responsibility among staff members at all levels. It’s important that each staff member works together to achieve excellence in a business, so the code of conduct is put in place. The purpose of the code is to provide guidance and set common ethical standards for employees from the top of the food chain to the bottom of the food chain. Some of the areas that I find to be significant of importance in a business are sexual harassment, discrimination and simply being professional in a work environment.
Supposed infringements of the codes shall be dependent upon an associate check. The protocols for principles or improper actions that are given by the Code of Ethics. Of course a code of ethics can’t assure ethical conduct. Professional obligations usually require any one person to go above and over their own personal beliefs.

Each provision of this code involves setting standards for which a nurse should follow. They also set a basis for what is appropriate concerning how a nurse should act and care for a patient. I do not believe that this code should be optional to follow. This is because being a nurse comes with responsibilities and duties that one should be expected to uphold, regardless of whether of not they want to follow it. When we choose to become a nurse, we are devoting our work to caring for other human beings. This means we need to be ethical when making decisions, as well as professional. In week 5, I will discuss the AHIMA code of ethics and whether it is good or not. I will also discuss the principles and whether they should be changed or not. Employees will be discussed and how some may respect and how may not respect it. Should they be terminated or just simply disciplined for their actions, that is what will be discussed here in this week’s apply paper. Ethics are basically the procedures of personal acts that are based on ideas or a person, about what is ethically good or bad and they are range of statistics that involves these statistics. So basically, ethics are rules a person sets for himself or herself about what is ethically right or wrong. They involve legal issues and if something is illegal, it does not always mean that it is unethical, consequently if something is ethical, it does not mean it is legal.
The major areas of my values and ethics can be summarized in six words: excellence, personal integrity, responsibility, ambition, accountability, and determination. Excellence guides me when setting targets in all my undertakings; I normally strive to achieve my best.
