Wellness provides the mind, body, feelings, and spiritual well-being individuals gain in their daily lifestyle. When most individuals in society hear the phrase wellness they assume it is referring to physical wellness. Which is true, but did society know that physical wellness is part of the seven wellnesses that are broken down into extension? Which are known for physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental, and occupational wellnesses. These seven wellnesses help provide ways for individual to do daily and guide individuals to maintain a good health from inside and out.

Ill health may be defined as 'a bodily or mental state that is deemed undesirable'. This means that health is the condition of the body both physically and mentally. Social construction of health refers to the way health varies from one society to another.
People in today’s society are constantly being told about the importance of their physical health. They’re always being reminded to eat their greens, to sleep for 7-8 hours a night, and to exercise for at least one hour every day. Though physical health is a topic of great importance, mental health should not be buried beneath. Today’s health epidemic no longer revolves around only physical health, but also mental health. Perhaps, though, if we take the time to understand what mental well-being is, we will be able to cure this epidemic. Mental well-being is understanding and coping with life’s ups and downs, having an emotional balance, and learning to accept who you are.
Physical health is one aspect of life that most individuals take for granted. Most people assume that our health will always be there or if one becomes sick they will be able to recover their health with the new medical advances that are always happening around the world. However, this is not always the case some individuals have to face a chronic lack of health and deal with the implications of this on their life. The loss of health I will be talking about today is not a direct loss of personal health but a loss of health that my father experiences and all the different components that affect my family and I’s life because of it.
B. When I evaluate my interpersonal social wellness I come to a conclusion that I am an introvert at most times. I am very cautious with who I let into my life. I have very few friends that I have and trust. When it comes to myself in general I like to socialize but more so I like to be by myself and reserve time for me. I agree with the author’s interpretation. With the author’s interpretation the score I had was five which was very realistic in my case.
Everyone has a different definition of health. Everyone wants to tell each other to do better and to be healthy. What exactly does it mean to be healthy? My personal definition of health is a person that has a good outlook on what they've got. They are happy emotionally and mentally. They have five gold stars in every section of health and wellness. Everyone has their days off but these people never remain unhappy or upset. Health is not the absence of sickness, it is so much more. It doesn't have to do with just physical well-being it has to do with all different aspects of health. I do not see myself as a completely healthy person, I have many problems. I am nowhere near where I should be to be considered a healthy person especially in my mental state. I have a lot going on. I do want to improve and better myself as a grow as a person, and that is exactly what I'm going to do. This project has helped me start in that direction. There is a misunderstanding of the poor among Americans due to the separation of classes. Society has an assumption that the people in poverty are worthless or less-valued. Popular culture should eliminate these stigmas by working with the poor to provide a better understanding of what benefits them because these stigmas can lead to negative stereotypes.
When thinking of my overall health, a few aspects stand out that I think I could definitely improve on. When I think my current personal wellness I think it is fairly decent. There are definitely people out there far worse than myself. It could be better because there is always room for improvement. I’m a big fan of personal growth. To me if a person decides to stop growing or wanting to better themselves either mentally, physically or emotiontally. Then whats the real purpose for living? I am a fairly active person. It involves both preventive health behaviors and a shift in thinking and attitude. Wellness is a lifelong promise to oneself of growth and achievement in each of the seven dimensions: emotional, spiritual, physical, occupational, intellectual, environmental, and social. It means a lifetime of ongoing change and always striving toward higher levels healthy and successful living. This means, ultimately, that one must live a life that caters to each of those dimensions both individually and collectively. Not living a healthy lifestyle, can have damaging effects on both health and life, and not only yours but the people that are around you. An unhealthy lifestyle means more illness and more expenses to treat those illnesses. This means a bigger burden on an already challenged and over-budgeted healthcare system.
