The major distinction is between mechanics who service and repair a vehicle's mechanical and electrical components and those who repair vehicle body parts. Auto mechanics work in dealer workshops and body repair shops or independent service and repair centers. Experienced technicians may also work as independent technicians, offering a mobile service to vehicle owners. Service technicians carry out routine servicing on cars and vans. They check oil and fluid levels, replacing them in line with manufacturer's’ recommendations. They also check the major electrical and mechanical components in line with servicing schedules. Service technicians check the operation of the fuel and ignition systems to ensure reliability and fuel efficiency. They diagnose and repair problems such as poor starting or heavy fuel consumption. The duties of a diagnostic technician overlap with those of a service technician. They use special tools to diagnose problems in the ignition, electrical and engine management systems. Diagnostic technicians play an increasingly important role in the workshop as automotive systems increase in complexity. Larger workshops may employ auto technicians who specialize in maintaining braking or transmission
Ever since I could go with my dad in the tractors and equipment on the ranch, I knew I wanted to be a part of its operation. I have always been fascinated with the operations of diesel engine and much of a valuable asset they are to our world today. I helped out on the ranch whenever I could driving equipment. In the summer time it was my job to operate the swather. I really enjoyed operating it as much as I enjoyed fixing it when it broke down. When it came time to go to college the decision for a major was pretty clear. This is my second year in college in the diesel program and I really enjoy it. I have learned a lot about diesels and the field and this is what I want to do.
Though a mechanic and an auto body technician have skills to work on a car, a mechanic has some limitations in vehicle repairing. An auto body technician has all the skills and knowledge to work on all parts of a car in fact; they are capable of putting all parts together making a vehicle look new.
The job of a mechanic is to keep the truck running properly and efficiently. This means he may have to take the entire truck apart to fix something. Taking care of the truck also means just the small things such as regular maintenance. Maintenance could be stuff like changing the oil regularly, new oil filter, fuel filter, or even giving the truck a good washing to keep it clean and in good working order. Also, full synthetic oil is the best thing you can put in the engine to keep everything running smooth and ensure the the parts stay properly lubricated.
If you want to make 18 dollars a hour then you can go right out of high school with a diploma or something that is just the same as one. But if you want to make some good money than you need to go to a technical school and get a degree there because than you will be able to make some good money. If you go to technical school then you will have the opportunity to get hands on work done. Which will range from 18 wheelers to your diesel cars that they are making today, so you will get better at diesel mechanics and get paid more by going to a school after high school. The schooling you will take for diesel mechanics is about 19 months or 73 weeks, but you can find some courses that will be a little shorter. After your schooling you will have to be ASE certified which means Automotive Service Excellence. If you can take these test, which normally your company will pay for( if you pass), you will be able to do more things which will lead to you being able to make more money and get a higher position like management or a higher

When I grow up I would like to be a construction worker. Construction workers are the men and women that you see working on various construction sites, for example residential construction, highway construction, commercial construction, and more. I chose this career because I enjoy working in the outdoors as well as building structures. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills, or talents needed, salary and benefits offered and the duties for a particular career when making this decision.
and I started to take it out. They test broken down machinery using computerized diagnostic programing, these particular programs designed to run various tests and find the problem in the machine. It is very important that as an industrial machinery mechanic keeps records of what they repaired, how long it took to repair the machinery, and how much the repair cost. They know how to carry on a conversation about business and talk with others to ask for help when they need it. An industrial machinery mechanic needs to know how to communicate; this is a major part of this particular job.

Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. By the age of thirteen I devised a scaled model of a heliostat power plant, which successfully powered a light bulb. The mathematics beyond the focus points of parabolic dishes and thermodynamics was very advanced for my age, but I took up the challenge...
There are times when you find yourself in a fix, with the car suddenly dying on you, while on the way to work. To your dismay, you realized that it’s out of warranty, but you still need to have it fixed immediately, as it is your only means of transport. You did the next best thing, and have it towed towards the nearest repair shop to get an estimate of repair. The mechanic calls later, to give you a litany of parts that needs to be replaced and repaired. The list seemed endless, and you get shock by the amount involved that you have to shell out. You then wonder if the mechanic is just trying to swipe a few bucks from you, since you don’t understand anything about cars.
To become an Auto Mechanic and a Shop Owner, you have to be certified and have a degree in business. To become a master tech, you need to get your ASE: Automotive Service Excellence certificates. There are Nine of them, they are,
These technicians are typically the ones who analyze, take photos, make sketches and take detail of the scene. As one young person was heard to remark, “You can’t get a job without experience, and you can’t get experience without a job.” That dilemma can be overcome, however, by starting work early in life and by accepting simpler jobs that have no minimum age limit and do not require experience. Jobs Teens Can Do Begin early at jobs that may not pay especially well but help to establish a working track record: delivering newspapers, babysitting, mowing lawns, assisting with gardening, and the like. Use these work experiences as springboards for such later jobs as sales clerks, gas station attendant, fast-food worker, lifeguard, playground supervisor assistant, and office staff assistant (after you have developed basic office skills). As you progress through these work exploration experiences, try increasingly to get jobs that have some relationship to your career plans.
It has taken a very long time for me to decide on the path that I wanted to take for my career. I have almost always known that I wanted to be an engineer. I was always more interested in applying my knowledge to solve problems rather than just research and understand the world. However, I had little to no inkling as to which field of engineering I wanted to go in to. I had always been a dabbler, involving myself in a large variety of activities with the interest of learning about how stuff works. I started out learning how to use the tools in the shed outback, making pinewood derby cars and model rockets. I would help my dad with home improvement and repair projects around the house. As time went on, my ability learns and apply
