1930 is when the Commonwealth Games first begun and at every Commonwealth Games Australia has been represented with pride. From the 4th to the 15th April 2018, Australia will host the games for the fifth time. It will be the first time held in a regional Australian city. Queensland’s Gold Coast will host the 21st Commonwealth Games. Welcoming the athletes and visitors from around the globe, the Gold Coast will make them feel right at home with the warm friendly environment. These games are focused on the athletes sporting excellence. On the 16th of April 2009 Queensland’s Premier Anna Bligh told reporters that a successful Commonwealth Games by Gold Coast City could help the tourist strip win a role in hosting the World Cup. Not only will the image and income of the Gold Coast increase but, it will also in the future be the event that will be unforgettable, it will leave a legacy. It is to be made sure that no perceived or real threats occur to the visitors of the Gold Coast. If any hazardous remarks are made it can not only risk the safety of others but also damage the positive name of the Gold Coast and give a bad reputation. This will also drive tourism ad visitors away, resulting to fewer crowds, which can lower the athletes support and self-esteem down which can lead to a performance that isn’t to the best of their abilities. Another setback due to reduced visitors is lower income. If the event is claimed to be unsafe, less people will attend, therefore all business stands, athletes, and the Government have a higher chance of not making a profit. If it is asserted that The Commonwealth Games is risking the safety of others it can also lead to a cancellation to the event if no action is taken. It is extremely important that the games complete a successful safety
