Audio engineering covers a wide array of duties and responsibilities. It also open doors and opportunities to branch off in various professions that from other facets of the entertainment industry. An audio engineer has many responsibilities to satisfy the artist or client recording and performance needs, as well as delivering an end product that meets the consumer’s enjoyment. Simultaneously the audio engineer needs to maintain harmony within the organisation and work within the budget. Marc Carolan (cited in SOS 2016) brings up his concern with other elements that affect live sounds which the engineer needs to consider, he mentions the venue acoustics and the natural elements such as wind, rain and humidity, therefore creativity as an audio engineer is essential. The Audio engineer has to be prepared for all sorts of interferences natural or manmade that may occur in both studio and live performances recording situations. In an enclose structure the audio engineer will make it his business to familiarise himself with the natural acoustic of those environment so he can use them to his advantage. Moreover it has been known as stated in (BOOK) for audio engineers to use other rooms available at the studio for their natural acoustics such as bathroom, hallways and stairwell by guitarist and vocalist for the reverberation quality to produce the best sound possible. The audio engineers will use his creativity to make decision on the best tools to use.
