Arguments In Favor Of Animal Testing In The United States

In the United States, nearly twenty six million animals are used every year for either commercial or scientific testing, and this kind of animal testing has already started long times ago. People use living animals to test their product’s effectiveness. For example, some animals are used to develop medical treatment, and some are used to ascertain the toxicity of medicine. Some people agree to use animals for product testing, but some do not. I totally disagree with the idea of using animals as model to test any products for human, and I think people can know that this is something wrong. Animals testing should be banned because it is unethical and unreliable, and alternative tests exist. Who give us the power to allocate animals life? The answer is no one. No one gives human beings the power to dominate the other species, but we still do it. None of us will allow product testing human babies or those who are mental disability because they have lower IQ than the public average, and we obviously do not allow it because it is unethical. According to what I have written before, animal testing’s results are unreliable, so people should start to use the alternative methods which are more similar to human. For example, like makeup, there are cheaper methods, such as artificial skin, that can be used in experiment rather than harming animals. For example, one of the alternatives for us to use today instead of animal testing is human skin cell. This cell can react to humans’ natural allergic responses. These kind of humane alternatives are available for people, and they have become more and more accurate as technologies improved.
