Animal Testing: An Unjust Practice in Modern Laboratories

Today, millions of animals are captured in cold laboratories feared to be tested on once again across the country. Imagine living a life with constant pain, ache and loneliness, and to dream about roaming free. I believe animals should not be tested on for products because all living things should be treated humanely, there are other ways to test products, and millions of animals are put to their death because of the labs. All living things should be loved and put into a safe environment, which is what the opposite of laboratories are. In the PETA article about this topic they state, “To test cosmetics, household cleaners, and other consumer products, hundreds of thousands of animals are poisoned, blinded, and killed every year by cruel corporations.” This would never happen with humans in our world. Animals are just as important as humans are, they should not be treated any less than they truly are. Many animals are lucky when it comes to finding a safe home if they are a pet; however, most animals get abused every day of their life whether they are in a lab, or an abusive household. There are many alternatives for products and cosmetics other than animal testing. Hundreds of millions of animals lives are taken each year because of the “necessity” of testing products that don’t apply to animals whatsoever. Therefor, I hold my stance as an advocate, or being against animal testing in general. There are many advocates for this topic which is a positive aspect, but it is still happening out there.
