Is animal testing really worth taking away animal’s valuable lives? No, I think it’s wrong, inhumane, and cruel. Animals have feelings like humans do and they should be treated with respect even though they are just animals. When animals are tested over time they live in cruel and harsh conditions. They are tied up and changed to their cages or devices they are being tested on. Almost all tests fail in humans and it is not worth sacrificing an animals life.Think about all the things animals have to go through all the harsh and cruel treatment. They are put in conditions where they are not allowed to eat or drink and move around. Is it really worth killing an animals for eyeliner that will never hit the market or for drugs that all fail in humans. So here are some of the reasons I think we should ban all animal testing. Did you know that 92 out of a 100 drugs tested on animal’s fail on helping humans? Well it’s a true and valid fact and it happens all the time. Animals are not thought as actual things with feelings a lot of the time and I think that’s wrong. Animals do have feelings ...
...this research I love animals more than ever that I don’t care if science nor people believed it or not that they have emotions.
Animals are used as a part of experimentations in order to accomplish new openings. A few individuals think that it is satisfactory, while others contend that it is not moral to sacrifice animals for science. Estimated, that fifty to one hundred million of animals are used for tests in the world. Despite the significance of experiments, the quantity of animals and purpose of research are not under any control. Animals testing should be banned under a few circumstances; we can enhance the situation by using alternative ways such as replacement, reduction, and refinement according to International Society for Applied Ethology.
Some would argue that animal testing is torture. Some would say that animal testing is completely necessary. There is no reason for animal testing to happen. There are several statistics that point to the negative side of animal testing. There are more pointing to the negative than to the positive. What is the point on testing on animals when we have statistics like how only 1.16% of the diseases are found in animals, or that 92% of the things that do pass through animal testing do not even work on humans? Europe, Israel, and India have already banned animal testing for cosmetics, because it was too harmful on the animals.
Today, millions of animals are being tested on for the use of human products, causing them to fall ill and die, leaving them no choice but to be experimented on. Animal abuse can be more than what meets the eye. Specifically, animal testing is a form of animal abuse and usually ends in death of a harmless animal. Some might say that there is no other way to test products, but due to the harm that is done and our advancements in science, animal testing should not be tolerated.
“Over 1 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in U.S. labs” according to DoSomething.org. And although these animals may be considered protected under the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) they are still able to be tortured and mistreated in labs. On top of all this, there is absolutely no guarantee that results and data collected from these procedures are accurate. Our anatomic builds are similar in ways but not at all interchangeable. Even though it has saved lives, animal experimentation should be banned because it is not a guarantee that these procedures are done pain free and humans and animals react differently to the medicines and chemicals used.
Animal testing is one the most beyond cruelty against animals. It is estimated about 7 million innocent animals are electrocuted, blinded, scalded, force-fed chemicals, genetically manipulated, killed in the name of science. By private institutions, households products, cosmetics companies, government agencies, educational institutions and scientific centers. From the products we use every day, such as soap, make-up, furniture polish, cleaning products, and perfumes. Over 1 million dogs, cats, primates, sheep, hamsters and guinea pigs are used in labs each year. Of those, over 86,000 are dogs and cat. All companies are most likely to test on animals to make patients feel safe and are more likely to trust medicines if they know they have been tested on animals first (PETA, N.D, page 1). These tests are done only to protect companies from consumer lawsuits. Although it’s not quite true, Humans and animals don’t always react in the same way to drugs. In the UK an estimated 10,000 people are killed or severely disabled every year by unexpected reactions to drugs, all these drugs have passed animal tests. Animal testing is often unpredictable in how products will work on people. Some estimates say up to 92 percent of tests passed on animals failed when tried on humans (Procon.org, 2014, page 1). Animal testing can’t show all the potential uses for a drug. The test results are...
There are many things going on in today’s society, of which include animal testing. This is happening in many famous medical/cosmetics laboratories, including L'oreal and Suave. There are many different experiments done to these animals, including ones that change the mind and appearance of the animals themselves. Seeing as these animals are abused in well-known companies so often, it’s society’s job to help and try to stop it. These tests are performed on these helpless animals, who have no way of speaking up or telling us to stop. Because of this, a lot of the scientists who perform these tests believe that the animals have no rights at all. Animals do have rights, but because of the testing people think they have none at all. There are also instances where one animal is tested on repeatedly, giving its health some of the worst side effects. In the aftermath of these tests, the animals are struck with illness and (as a worst case scenario,) death. There are many different routes/forms for sickness to take in these cases as well, meaning there is a variety of bad side effects for each illness to take. These different illnesses and side effects of the illnesses will be bad for the animals’ health, seeing as they are, indeed, bad. These will be covered in the next paragraph.
Did you know medicine you take is tested on animals before they are used on you? Well if you didn’t then animals from all over the world has suffered and died because of medical testing. These animals are suffering pain the medical testers has been testing medicines on the animals to make sure they are safe for humans they have been using toxics on animals to see if there is any more ways of making it safe. Thousands of animals population are being decreased due to animal testing. People from all over the world is not realizing that what they use that is medicine or cosmetics are safe for them because of animals everyone is safe because of animals it has been finding cures for types of illness because of animals because they have been suffering the pain for you. Animal testing should be illegal animals lives are suffering with pain and are dying the population is decreasing.
Hundreds of millions of animals die every year from animal testing in the United States. Innocent animals are used everyday in laboratories for biology advancements, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetic testing. They are used to provide information to make better products that are safe for human use. Although animal experimentation has some benefits, the negatives outweigh the positives. Animal testing is killing off innocent beings for the possible human benefit, and with modern technology, there are alternative ways to test products that leave animals unharmed.
Has it ever crossed a human’s mind that hurting an animal for research is wrong? Lets help our government prevent animal testing for all creatures, especially for mice and rabbits. Many people are using animal testing as an excuse for their own pleasures, such as, hunting, cleaning supplies, medical and cosmetic purposes. Many companies are not required to put labels on their merchandises, which means people are clueless to whether products are being tested on animals. Researchers should consider the use of the chemosynthetic liver. Researchers will never understand the pain these poor defenseless creatures go through, so people think it is acceptable to continue animal testing since animals can not speak for themselves.
Animal has been used in medical experiments for a long time. In order to conduct certain medical experiments, scientists are continuing use animals in testing. Scientists receive medical knowledge and information through research projects. It helps scientists understand how living things work and the benefit of all lives. Animal experimentation is the most important process, and it is one of the method helps scientists gain information from their medical research. Although the ethics of animal testing is a controversial problem, animal testing is necessary for medical research.
Should animal testing be banned? Now, animal testing is still a controversial subject, and the scientists are facing an increasing problem, with more and more people appealing to stop animal testing. The original purpose of animal testing was to invent drugs for human diseases. For example, Scutti (2013) states that 98 of Nobel Prizes awarded for Physiology or Medicine, 75 were directly dependent on research from animals. The four non-animal experiment prize winners also relied on the data, which were obtained from other animal research groups.
One drug, used to cure symptoms of arthritis, caused the death of more than sixty thousand people in the United States. This drug was pulled off the market in 2004 because animal testing led researchers to believe that that drug, Vioxx, was safe (New England Anti-Vivisection...). A simple arthritis drug killed thousands of people, but the blame does not fall to the animals; therefore, the blame is on the researchers and scientists who trusted the animals test results to predict beneficial outcomes for humans. This drug is only one of numerous cases where a drug has been recalled due to the fact that it causes harmful results that were not seen in animal experiments. An animal’s make-up is similar to that of humans, but nonetheless there are
One reason why many people support animal testing is that humans and animals are very similar genetically. According to the California Biomedical Research Association “All animals have similar organs, such as the heart, lungs and liver.”They all function the same way as our organs do. If you didn't know, most animals that are tested are mice and rats. Mice and rats are genetically 98 percent similar to humans. Also humans and animals can carry the same diseases (Why we Should accept animal testing). H.I.V, A.I.D.S, arthritis ,diabetes and cancer are just a few of the diseases that humans and animals both acquire. If you say that animal testing is unnecessary; that is not a factual statement. There is a multitude of evidence to contradict that statement.
First of all, animal testing should be banned in order to protect the rights of animals. In other words, animals’ rights are infringed by experimenting on them. Animals and humans are similar in many ways. To begin with, they have similar levels of biological complexity. They both are aware that they exist and they both make conscious choices. Philosophy professor at North Carolina State University Tom Regan points out "Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment. This inherent value is not respected when animals are reduced to being mere tools in a scientific experiment." (F. B. Orlans) Experimentation on an animal ...
