BOOM! BANG! Everyday people in the half-torn countries of Israel and Palestine hear these terrible, dangerous sounds often. The fighting in Israel and Palestine has been going on for more than a century. This fighting never seemed to slow down, it is only getting worst. In my opinion, these countries shouldn’t fight because it doesn't solve problems, people are killing each other, and fighting will only create more issues. These countries say they are fighting over land, religious beliefs, and past issues. But should they? To begin, I think this fighting should be stopped because fighting doesn't solve any problems. Think about it, these countries have started fighting since 1947, but nothing has changed. It all started when the Holocaust ended in 1945, the Jews wanted to form their own country. They wanted to live where their ancestors had lived more than 2000 years ago. The land which they wanted to live in is of course modern day Israel, the Holy Land, but there were Arab Muslims already living there. So the Jews drove these people out of their homes, making the Arabs immigrants in other countries. Ever since the fighting started things only got worse and worse. More and more people got killed because of this useless fighting. Also, the fighting has created the Hamas terrorist group. They had dramatically changed Gaza and the West Bank by owning many seats in the Palestinian Parliament in the 2006 elections. Many people had turned to Hamas because they pledged to make things better for the people of Palestine. The United States had made a lot of peace talks to end violence and fighting in these two countries, but they only made the violence increase by giving more and more power to the Israeli army.
