Think of the fact of FBI knowing where you are 24/7. Are Snapchat’s new facial lenses scanning your face to make a database? Yes, they are because when you tap on your face a wire frame appears over your face. That’s Snapchat mapping your face to put a filter on top of your face (Moldrich Curtis). The wire frame is not just mapping your face it's also scanning your face. This whole thing began back in April when rapper B.o.B started an argument on Twitter, he suggested that Snapchat was using its facial-recognition technology to build a database of faces. According to the FBI, a program known as the Next Generation Identification system would be charged with facial mapping and mug shots(Mcgauley Joe). Although This could this be a good thing, The FBI could find criminals by tracking their faces and knowing what they look like. Don't be fooled this is dangerous too, someone could make a 3D copy of your face and use it to do dangerous things and get you in trouble and there would be no way to figure out who stole your face. Snapchat facial lenses are used to track faces and make a database of faces so someone could steal your face to commit
Every day, more and more attempts of banning books and taking away the rights of our First Amendment get violated. The challenging of a book is the attempt to remove or restrict materials, and the banning is the removal of these materials. I believe that books should not be banned for these reasons.
According to Kate’s article, National Telecommunications & Information Administration (NTIA), has hosted a meeting with stakeholder about government implement facial recognition technology and privacy violation issue on February 6, 2014. John Verdi, director of privacy initiatives at the Commerce Department, emphasized that these information on government uses would only help federal officers to understand the technology, and they would not actually access technology to misuse the confidential information. (Kate, 2014) However, he did not respond any questions about government uses of facial recognition technology; we could not stop wondering, once it came cross the national security level issue, how long the government could endure a temptation from the demon? Is the government surveillances a necessary of evil?
Every person has wondered about something - whether it be a person, place, thing, law, or anything that someone can think about. They ask questions both rhetorical and actual to themselves, and usually make it a mission to answer these questions. Some of the biggest questions have something to do with culture and religion. One of the most major questions of all time - to what extent does an individual have control over the outcome of his or her life? There are many different opinions on this topic.
In Europe, citizen’s right to privacy regarding facial recognition is highly protected. A commercial company must pursue permission before using facial recognition. Specifically in the UK, there is an act that “stipulates that we have to be informed when we are under camera surveillance and by whom.” They also can request any footage they are in. Currently in the U.S, only Illinois and Texas have state laws which cover the privacy concerns of facial recognition. Although these state laws are in place, Companies such as Facebook and Shutterfly have decided not to distinguish any differences for the two states compared to the rest of the country. This has resulted in numerous lawsuits piling up over the past year which will test these laws. Even if the cases are won, it doesn’t protect everyone who doesn’t reside in Texas and

““Well, they had a point. You are fat and disgusting!” The therapist announced. Patricia was sobbing, eyes red and nose runny...“Come on… Let’s go. We aren’t putting up with that!” her father...opened the door and ushered the family through. The therapist just observed and no more was heard from him…[Her nervous breakdown] was a result of long term bullying leading to an episode of being run out of school by a gang of boys. They threatened to kill her with a crowbar, sticks and wooden planks. She felt like a hunted fox” (shazwellyn.hubpages.com). No matter how hard a parent might try to help their child, whether they’re being bullied or are the bully, the consequences should not fall on the people who raise them because the victims have to do what they can to make up for what they’ve done or what they’ve suffered. The city of Monona, Wisconsin has proposed a new law that tickets and fines the parents for failing to respond properly to their child’s poor behavior. A behavioral and personal change consulting specialist, Mr. Michael Harmann, hypothesized that bullying behavior is typically an effort to cover up the bully's own vulnerability. It's a primitive mindset that wants to make you pay when you show vulnerability and since bullying mostly occurs under the legal age, that’s enough to say that higher levels of authority don’t have control over the thoughts and actions that bullies use as an outlet for their own pain because it goes against the Constitution. The key to helping the children we feel so sorry for is to heal the bully before he turns into a monster and the only way to help the perpetrator is to make him face his motivation to bully. “If you think about it, a great strategy to avoid being rejected is to reject everyon...
What makes a good person good? According to WikiHow, "We should learn to define our own morals ourselves. One of the simplest ways to do so is to love others, and treat them as you would like to be treated. Try to think of others before yourself. Even doing small things daily will greatly enrich and improve your life, and the lives of others around you." This quote shows us what we need to do in order to be what society thinks as, “good". Social media is a revolutionary way to connect to friends and family through a single app much like Facebook. Also allowing the public to be more informed on current events whether that would be an issue in today 's society all the way to a heartwarming story or a funny video. Although this sounds amazing and the fact that this type of news outlet is practically new. An issue arises that involves “fake news” and with that comes many opinions on what to do about it. I believe that people browsing these platforms should have a little bit of skepticism behind each story and if it the topic truly intrigues someone then they should look into the topic on a reliable resource before passing on the authors misinformation.
