“Over the course of 12 years, and at a cost of $10 million, Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology has developed a robotic animal”(The Rise of the Robotic Pets Elena Soto). Robotic pets verse real ones. Who will win? Are these so called robotic dogs good enough to replace our loyal and faithful dogs and cats. Will they give affection for the affection that is given to them. Can they do what are dogs can do today? Can they go on hikes, fetch a ball? That is why robotic pets can not replace our dogs they do not love their owners, they would not be able to teach kids how to be responsible, and they do not fetch.


First of all robotic pets do not love their owners. Why? They are computer chips: Pieces of metal stuck together with a microchip. Are robots good enough to replace the real ones. Robotic dogs are not able to retrieve a ball or go on a walk. Their boring. All robots can do is pet them and they bark. Whoopty do.
