There has been much speculation on a new fad diet that has recently become very popular in 2014 to present. The diet is called Raw Till 4, a lot of people believe that it is part of a lifestyle choice not a diet. Raw till 4 consist of follow a high fruit raw vegan diet, in which one is to only eat raw fruit and vegetables until 4 o’clock and then a high carb vegan meal for dinner and eat meal much contain at least 1000 calories plus per meal. There has been a lot of controversy around the raw till 4 diet and if one can get all their basic nutrition from just eating raw fruit and veg. (Yarwood, 2014)

She is a is a self-pro claimed health guru with over 352,376, YouTube subscribers who popularized the whole Idea of Raw till 4 and swear by the health benefits that it has giver her she believes that changing her lifestyle to a high raw vegan is the key to gaining a lean body. Free lee insists that eating a 4 till 4 has helped her lose 3 stone. She was 11st 2lbs and shrank down to a tiny 8 stone by following this lifestyle, free lee claims she eat up to 51 banana’s as a part of her diet. A lot of supposed benefits that the raw till 4 diet have not been supported scientifically. People who believe in Raw till 4 as a life style believe that when food it is cooked it is also killing the enzymes in the food, but a lot of those enzyme are killing when chewing and digesting the food no matter if the food was cooked or not, some food like sweet potatoes and tomatoes have nutrients that are higher when the cooked, making them have an even higher nutrinonal value when they are cooked. (Yarwood, 2014) A study written in the journal of nutrition in 2008 found that people who are follow a raw diet, have considerably high level of a certain Vitamin called Beta-carotene, which is found in dark green leafy vegetables and other fruits and vegetables, But the study uncovered that the people who were actually eating a raw diet had low levels of lycopene, which is an antioxidant found in tomatoes which caused the color to be red, (Sadie, N 2013) they found that having lycopene in one’s diet helps to lower the risk of cancer and cardio vascular disease, which people who were following a raw food diet were lacking in that antioxidant.
