With every good and needed policy that is thought of or enforced there always follows reasons and arguments put up against those policies. These are issues that we have always come across, but only because every person is entitled to their freedom of speech and their own thoughts on a certain matter. Rialto California 2012; we see the beginning of a Policy that will change the nation for better as an old high school Police officer becomes one of the first to adopt the practice of BWC's. From 2012 when the first BWC was issued to present day, we have come across Police officers, citizens, and even suspects that have shared their dislike for the Policy involving this controversial piece of equipment. Three main issues that seem to constantly be brought up to our attention regarding body worn cameras are total cost towards the equipment needed to provide BWC's to all officers, research stating that this policy does not work or has no major effect on the actions made by Police officers, and last but not least the fact that police officers can turn their body cameras off whenever they please.

There are various studies on a nationwide scale that prove the enactment of surveillance cameras on police officers to be very effective in more ways than one. In many of these tests conducted on various police stations we see major declines in civilian complaints, and in excessive force used on civilians and suspects.
