Looking for a Reason to Kill There was a time when Jason witnessed the brutal murder of his mother at the hands of his father. His father had never killed anyone before, yet he killed his wife. People eventually die, but some die for the wrong causes. Murder is one of those causes, but the question is: why? Most people would think the killer was insane, that being the sole reason for why they kill. However, some killers started off as normal people. Insanity is not the only clear motive for murder since research shows that there are other reasons why people kill.
Contrary to the belief that all killers are insane, some kill when they did not intend to. One alternate motive for murder is emotional stress or, more specifically, anger. For example,

People can be greedy, and some go so far as to kill others for that which they do not have, but want. In the case of the Clutter family murder, perpetrators Richard Hickock and Perry Smith had been planning to rob the family since their release from prison (CFM). They questioned Herb and after “assuming that Herb Clutter wasn’t volunteering the information, [they] executed in cold blood all four family members” (CFM). If the desire for someone else’s wealth is enough for people to kill, then the desire for that wealth must be strong.
Once they have attained that wealth, murderers would kill more people for more money. People die at the cost of several dollars or a few pieces of jewelry. Back to the Clutter family murder, Dick and Perry killed four innocent people for “between forty and fifty dollars” (CFM). They just kept on stealing since “Dick loves to steal. It’s an emotional thing with him-a sickness” (CFM). If people die over material wealth in this present day and age, then the world is a crueler place than it once was.
Unfortunately, Jason never recovered from the brutal scene and his father was sent to life in prison. Murder will impact people that are connected to the victims, but there are many reasons for why it happened. Murderers may be “insane”, but many started off as “normal”
The author, Katherine Ramsland, is a forensic psychologist that teaches criminal justice. The purpose of this article is to answer the question of ‘how and why’ a human could have so much anger towards another person. Anthony Meoli holds a BS in criminal justice from Penn State University, a MA in forensic psychology from Argosy University, and a JD from John Marshall Law School. He was interviewed while I was reading this article and answered questions based off of why he was launching this project. His ultimate goal was to find a link between the creative side of their brain and the ability they have to naturally compartmentalize their live. He wants to find out why they are addicted to killing and what draws them towards that need. He
...theorize that serial killers have brain damage or other biological abnormalities that contribute to their actions. Damage to areas like the frontal lobe, the hypothalamus and the limbic system can contribute to extreme aggression, loss of control, loss of judgment and violence. Henry Lee Lucas, who was convicted of 11 murders, was shown to have extreme brain damage in these areas, probably the result of childhood abuse, malnutrition and alcoholism. Arthur Shawcross, another 11-time serial killer, was found to have had several brain injuries, including two skull fractures. While in prison, he suffered from headaches and often blacked out. Bobby Joe Long, convicted of nine murders, stated at one point, "After I'm dead, they're going to open up my head and find that just like we've been saying a part of my brain is black and dry and dead" [source: Scott].
Imagine yourself going out to a neighborhood party trying to relax after a stressful week. You might want to socialize, drink, or watch television. Now try to think about the penalties that can occur when the party gets out of control such as loud outbursts, fighting, and physical behavior. Depending on the setting of the party, there could be a possible chance of violence happening. In this case, the violent actions can result to homicides, shootings, and suicides. Homicides can vary based on age, gender, race, and methods of killing the victim. Shootings are quick reactions to dealing with victim. Suicides result to choosing to kill one’s life. Overall, there are different reasons to why individuals feel the need to kill someone else. It
Growing up in a household where a person’s parents are constantly arguing can be stressful. It is even worse when the parents divorce because it causes a split between the child and their parents. In the story “Jason Will Be Famous” toward the end of the story it was revealed how dysfunctional Jason’s parents were and that he longed for them to reconnect as a family. Jason constantly had dreams of himself being kidnapped. The dream first seemed to be a nightmare, until the recurrence of the same dream lead him to believe he could possibly get kidnapped. In daydreams Jason thought of what he would do if he was kidnapped and how he would escape. He thought of how important he would be after his escape and how his parents would change their thoughts of him. Jason had visions of himself cool

Whether it is Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, and person of the like, you may have a bad feeling about them due to their ill past. This is not due to an inner judgment of the person on your part, more than likely it is the media that has skewed your views of a serial killer. The news media is just playing their role in society and that is to inform people but they do so in a way that frightens people into coming back to view the media that they produce. The other types of media such as movies, television shows, radio stations, and books also portray serial killers as monsters to entertain people. Although it may be a great way to entertain and inform people, it is not the least bit true and gives serial killers a worse image by labeling them as monsters.
The idea of getting into the mind of a serial killer can either be frightening or fascinating, or both. Everyone is affected by the senseless killings of these serial killers. I can’t imagine a person that was not affected in some way or another by the Charles Manson murders or the Timothy McVeigh bombing. Although you may not know somebody that was killed by a serial killer, you have been affected.
Capital Punishment is a very controversial topic, there is both irrefutable and critical evidence that supports capital punishment. There is a plethora of inquiry you can ask yourself such as, what kind of limitations are there? How much are we really willing to spend on executions and does the cost outweigh its benefits? Then there is one question that everyone asks, is there credible evidence that supports that capital punishment does in fact deter crime. Based on the evidence there in fact is credible evidence that supports that capital punishment does deter crime.
The causes of psychopathy remains a mystery for the general public and the scientists who study it. Looking into the brains of many well known serial killers, there are similar qualities within each serial killer that could have influenced this way of life. Whether it be from physical abuse, verbal abuse, mental abuse, neglect, or abandonment, they can contribute to the making of a serial killer. Under some circumstances there can be no abuse at all. Neurologists have been studying brain scans of serial killers for many years, but are still unable come up with a definitive reason for the abnormality that possesses individuals to commit these gruesome acts. More information can be explored through various notorious serial killers’ timeline,
Children are our future but yet many have died as a result of gun violence. The debate on gun control, gun violence and the second amendment are of popular interest to the general American public. The country has suffered so many tragedies such as Columbine, Virginia Tech and Sandy Hook Elementary School. The commonality among all these incidents is that they involve school shootings and gun violence. In their everyday lives, Americans are constantly bombarded by the rhetoric concerning the advocates for gun control or opponents for gun rights and second amendment. The group, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots campaign of mothers promoting an end to the epidemic of gun violence that affects every neighborhood. The organization released a video on YouTube named “Gun Violence-Is this the #NewSchoolUniform?” that portrays a routine morning for a typical American family with Kindergarten-aged children with an interesting point: a little boy puts on his bulletproof vest before he goes to school. The overall idea is that this psa does an effective job in campaigning gun control and offers insight into American future if gun control laws are not enacted.
Just imagine one of your family members was a victim of a crime that made the attacker go on death row. How would you want the attacker to be executed? By hanging, firing squad, electric chair, or the by the more humane way; lethal injections? The controversy behind using lethal injections as a method of execution has different opinions; if the injections violates the Constitution, inhumane, and malpractice issues airse. The main problem with lethal injections is there needs to be a final decision on whether to allow lethal injections or ban them from being used.
There are many factors that might lead someone to indulge in criminal activities. And a lot of times we think that crime is done by mostly those who are poor or unemployed but even those who are wealthy do commit crime too. Criminal activities may be caused by financial problems at home, hanging around the wrong crowd and so on. I have seen this happen to many people I know and grew up with. Right now it has gotten worse because people don’t care anymore, even the ...
Violence and the justification of it have been an issue for as long as the world has been in existence. There are different opinion on this subject. Many of them believe in favor, and many of them in opposing the idea. For an extensive definition of violence, you might need to check dictionary, “The use of physical force to harm someone, to damage property, etc.” (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/violence) Personally, I believe in both of them. I split them, and believe that, in some case violence can be justified; on the other hand, I believe violence cannot be justified.
Animals have been a part of human’s daily life. Some are domesticated in our home or found in their natural habitat which is the wild, and others live in our house but we just simply ignore them as long as they do not give any disturbance. Every species of animal has different characteristics which they use to survive and adapt in their environment. According to the researchers, an estimate of 8.74million species of animals living in Earth, however not all of these species are discovered and the sad fact about this is that they may extinct before they have been discovered because of over-hunting, introduction of invasive species and destruction of their habitat. Today, groups of animal welfarist and animal rightist implements laws for the goodness of animals, although they have different principle, and this can help control the population of animals.
Our society is like a bed of flowers; when a harmful weed sprouts we eliminate it before it harms the rest. Criminals are the weeds, and if they are not taken care of, they will only grow in numbers and consume the rest of us. The death penalty has been a popular issue for many years. Thirty three states currently support the death penalty verses seventeen that do not (Death Penalty Information Center). There is a great deal of opposition towards capital punishment, and the most popular opposing arguments are that Capital punishment is unconstitutional, it is biased towards race and class, and many innocent people are wrongfully executed due to mistakes in the system. These arguments are false, and are cleverly constructed with the help of logical fallacy’s and rhetoric. Capital punishment should be adopted by all fifty states because it discourages crime, and is a great representation of justice, and a moral punishment.
