Free Education In most parts of the developed world, collegiate education is very inexpensive or even free. In fact, the United States has one of the highest college pricing in the world and this is putting the population, as a majority, into more and more student debt. There are many reasons why we should transfer to this system. Education must be free for college students in order to quicken economic growth, and to provide for a more educated society. Education has long been seen as a source of economic mobility (Reiff, Mark; The Guardian). Education is widely accepted as a driving force in a nation’s economy yet, as a whole, during the past 20 years, American states spend one-fifth less per public student on average than what they …show more content…

This would save the government 59 billion dollars further. This, along with the universitarian taxes, would mean that the government would save, on average, 100 billion 300 million. Now, imagine what the nation would be able to provide with that money. That’s the cost of all repairs, restorations, and supplies for every single school across the nation, plus 23 Billion 800 million extra to do with what they will. Free education would also provide 2 million people jobs. This means that our unemployment rate would decrease from 5.5% to 4.8%. This would also allow our people to be more productive and to be better equipped for their jobs permitting them to manufacture higher quality goods. Education in today’s world, the path to the American dream (Christ, Carol; University of California-Berkeley). The nation would be more productive as a whole with people who would know exactly what they are doing and exactly how to do it. A great thing about colleges and universities is that they enable the people to have experience with what they are going to do after school. It teaches them how to do what they do and allows for them to have a safe environment to make mistakes and to learn from them. People who graduate from college are more sought after for these reasons, imagine a whole country with these attributes. Where would this idea put the workforce? The nation would be much better off, more able to make a difference in world politics, world trade. The country would be a lead example for other territories around the world, and the people would have a bigger say in what the ideal world would be. They would be better leaders for the others. They would achieve the American Dream of equal opportunity to be successful through hard work and determination, by having many more chances to succeed and to live the life they want for
