The blunt principles behind marijuana To most people, marijuana has been known as the most harmless drug that can be used for headaches, cancer, and several different types of pain. But others acknowledge it as a gateway drug to the use of other drugs and find it destructive towards the human body. Since the start of the marijuana evolution, over 21 states have legalized medical cannabis or appropriately decriminalized the substance. California was the first state to do so in the year of 1996. Legalization of this substance would edge to the increase of the drug spilling into the hands of young teenagers and children. Unhealthy legal items such as alcohol and cigarettes are restrained from being sold to kids. The reasoning behind this is because kids don’t understand the responsibility or judgement that an adult does. Kids these days can easily get access to these substances, and if marijuana were to be legalized it would be even worse because of it on a developing brain of a teenager. If this substance were to become more widespread through the world, it would increase the hazards of second hand smoke to the bystanders that don’t use the drug. Other people would suffer from the damage of inhaling other people’s smoke. In result, roommates, siblings, children, and spouses would face increased exposure, which would then lead to societies health would change drastically. Marijuana has also been known as a stepping-stone drug, leading to cocaine, heroin or other hard drugs. This is notably a problem since most of all people will not directly start abusing the harmful drugs that are commonly seen as harmful.
