How much time do students waste writing essays? In high school most students have to write an essay and sometimes they have to write an argumentative essay. Countless hours are wasted writing countless essays in english classes which students could use to learn how to do taxes or get a job. How many students actually know how to pay bills or do taxes the day they graduate high school? When is a student going to have to write an essay outside of school especially an argumentative essay?
Students have approximately ninety-six minutes in class and when the teacher decides that it's time for an essay it could take weeks. Taking time for a student writer to write an essay is approximately a week and after they get done writing it the students have to proofread the essay. Proofreading is correcting the mistakes in the essay and it doesn't always get all of the mistakes. The more essays students write the more practice the student will have and the better he or she will be at writing them. If a student were to get a boring office job or became a teacher the student might have to write an essay very rarely but if the student were to work at Walmart, be an farmer, math teacher, or almost any other job the student will probably never need to write an essay. A student may need to write an essay to get into college but that is if they even go to college. Many students don't even want to go to college so writing essays do no good for them. If a student is going to college or think they need to know how to write one then they can get in a class where they learn how and if they are not going to college then can get in a class where they learn what they need to know for what job they're going to be
Essays are not just the standard five paragraphs and then done style that was taught to students in grade school. The student, mentioned by Wesley, had difficulties comprehending how to incorporate the five-paragraph essay into her assignment. After high school, there are many different opportunities that open up for everyone. Some people have the chance to go to a prestigious college right after they are done with their high school career. Others might just want a break from school and possibly take a year off. There are no right or wrong answers to what someone does after they finish high school. It all depends on the person's situation or what they feel is best for them.
