Today's society is built on the ability to use a car , bus, TV , computer and other electronic means . We get more news through the internet and television, and we use all the time more electricity. Thus, there are many who believe that society is about to destroy itself. By sending out giant amounts of CO2 every year, we entered a period of much frustration and assumptions. But how is it really going to evolve? Are we to emit greater quantities of greenhouse gases than we already do , or we will succeed in limiting our emissions ? Many believe that what we now call a climate crisis , only one peak of a wave of climate change. They believe that the future climate will be like the past . There is a possibility that it will be as it was before again and there are many who leans on this theory. Many have begun to wonder how our future will look like. While many still do not care. Probably most people will not understand the gravity of CO2 emissions before they even notice the consequences. They will probably only after they are hit , start doing something active to stop emissions. That one recognizes the climate crisis does not mean that you automatically change behavior. The changing lifestyle can be difficult. Many people find it cumbersome to use public transport instead of their own car. It is easy to buy new clothes instead to patch and modify . Sorting of waste also needs an extra effort. But for every action you take after you come a little closer to the goal . The current consumption gives a too large emissions of greenhouse gases. Authorities are trying constantly to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases , but as many residents constantly getting riche... ... middle of paper ... ...robably be several extinct species , drought in many parts of the world and floods in other parts of the world. An increasing number of hurricanes , tsunamis and earthquakes. Many may look at climate change as a positive thing, because they believe that there will be more sunshine here in the north. But it is wrong , for instead of hotter summers will be more rain . Future climate and society have to be characterized by the ability to stand on to change! Future climate change will have limited emissions of greenhouse gases , and the community will be affected by it should be a goal. Perhaps measures like solar panels on private homes , wind turbines and hydropower will impact our daily lives. But also to use more public transport and less power consumption will influence the future .. If we do not change our lifestyles , our only place to stay lost in the sea ..
In addition to lowering greenhouse gas levels and using cleaner energy sources, there are things we can do as people to stop climate change. We could reduce our use of electricity at our homes by turning off the lights when we leave the room, turning down/up the heating/ac when it is unnecessary, and using less water. Also, we could install solar panels in our homes and donate money to environmental protection agencies. Hopefully, the people of our world will soon realize climate change is a pressing issue that must be solved as soon as
The earth is billions of years old, and humans only realized the power of fossil fuels in the last century. Knowing what we are doing to the environment should be enough for people to take a stand and reduce their carbon emissions. It’s not just a matter of awareness, it’s about letting people know why they should care on a personal level and on a larger scale. Climate change is real, and most of it is because of human activity.
Earth’s average temperature has increased about 0.8 degrees Celsius since 1880 and another degree could cause even more problems than there already are. Climate change is an important issue to be aware of because it is real and it affects you and the things around you each and every day. Every day animals lose habitats and die because climate change caused there home to burn, or their food sources started to deplete, etc. Along with these, more and more CO2 is being released into the air due to wildfires burning which is causing the atmosphere to heat even more. With the temperature increasing the oceans will become warmer and evaporation and rainfall patterns will change which will affect humans and animals, because we all work together in a system. There are many consequences of climate change like human health issues, and more animals becoming endangered, but the most important consequence is the rising amounts of wildfires.
Seeing climate change as an emergency doesn't always make people make actions because of many psychological barriers that limit the mitigation of climate change. Frantz and Mayer in their article" The Emergency of Climate Change: Why are We Failing to Take action? "Published in Analyses of Social Issues and Public Policy (2009) and Gifford in " The Dragons of Inaction. Psychological Barriers That Limit Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation" published in American Psychology (2011), discussed the reasons why the American public are failing to take action to Climate Change even though they know that it is a grave issue. They also offered some suggestions that help in getting over those barriers.
This means that a social breakdown can occur due to fear and anxiety being instilled in our somewhat fragile technology-dependent society, and with that grave economic and political implications can also be expected to follow. Furthermore, I do believe in climate change but I feel that the more adverse effects of climate change will come from the societal effects of the alerting circumstances of climate change because if chaos and terror were to be instilled within people, that in itself would be detrimental to our society and the
Rather than worry too much about emissions, we should accept the world is going to get warmer anyway and adapt to global warming by building better flood defenses and developing drought resistant crops.
Identity is like a mosaic, composed of countless pivotal pieces; however, these pieces become lost over time, as societal expectations reshape one’s identity. Maintaining these elements is crucial, as they ease the connection with one’s unique values in a world where conformity overrules autonomy. Both protagonists in Carleigh Baker's "War of Attrition" and Sherman Alexie’s “This is What it Means to Say Phoenix, Arizona” challenge society’s expectations to assert their autonomy; therefore, exploring the theme of identity. Baker’s story explores the theme of identity through the journey of a young woman, Corrina, preparing to leave her caring husband. Throughout her preparations, she faces internal doubt and guilt caused by her coworker Lana, who
Former Vice President, Al Gore’s speech, The Climate Emergency, was a highly accurate prediction of the circumstances our planet would be under in coming years. The facts relevant as of 2004 are still true in the year 2015. While many companies and individuals have learned to contribute to helping our plant go greener, the dangers of the climate change are still a pressing issue supported by scientific evidence. With occurrences such as extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and ice cap disappearances, global warming is physically being show on our planet and in order to prevent a complete reversed climate on our hemispheres, the population of Earth as a whole must ban together to reduce our carbon footprint.
All facts, statements and reports conclude that mankind is in part responsible for this change in our ecosystem. Hence if we do not change, drastic changes over the next 100 years will threaten the safety of some people and our environment. More and more research is being deployed into this intriguing field of science. Some scientists deny reports of global warming impacts. And some scientists show more and more proof of such impacts. When will the academic and governmental community understand the consequences of our treasured way of life? Will it take huge catastrophic man-induced disasters to change the worlds mind on what actions to take? Is our economy so reliant upon oil that it will risk our planets' health, for money? People need to take action on these issues before the damage of global warming has left a huge, worsening-footprint on our earth.
... areas will get more precipitation and storms while others will get nothing and have serious droughts. The warming of a few degrees will cause glaciers to melt and sea ice to melt leading to a lot of damage. This damage would lead the levels of the oceans to rise and would cause damage to coastal cities and islands. This would cause serious problems for the different species living in the oceans and could some disease. Especially diseases caused by mosquitoes which love warm and humid climates. There are many ideas and solutions to stop global warming. It is very difficult to reverse this process once it is started. If we want to live like we are now and have been we have to stop this process. Emissions of fossil fuels by humans is a big factor of global warming. The reason being is because of the amount of carbon dioxide released from the fossil fuels. Controlling these emissions is one huge step of many steps required to slow down and stop global warming. If global warming is not controlled, all the problems that have been mentioned, along with other problems will disrupt the living patterns in which we live.
One of the most talked about subjects on the future is climate. At this very moment the Earth is warming up and we are the cause. The warming of the Earth is known more commonly as global warming. Maybe this subject is going to be fought over for centuries while we squander the time we have left away, but even if we did stop doing the things that cause global warming it will not bring it to a standstill. The main cause is pollution, and although scientists say that crude oil will be a thing of the past, alternatives to it will be created.
In recent years global warming has been on the rise. The importance of this issue is so that we as a nation can be aware of the drastic changes which are occurring rapidly around the world. Although there isn 't one set resolution to solve climate change, we must continue to carry out ways to put it to a halt. Some of the ways I believe we can cut this crisis is to stop polluting the manufacturing of toxic gases which is filling our environment with smog. If we all put our ideas and opinions in ways to prevent some causes of climate change, the world in which we live will be a better place. Instead of being a part of the problem we can be a part of the solution. Opposed to just humans, animals, and other species are affected as a result of
As matter of fact, the increasing of greenhouse gases (GHGs) including water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (C...
Of all the effects of global warming, the extreme weather that is taking place all over the world is the most obvious one. Global warming will bring more heat waves, drought, fiercer wildfires and stronger hurricanes. “This intensification of weather and climate extremes will be the most visible impact of global warming in our everyday lives” (75 yrs NWF). Due to rising temperatures, places everywhere will be affected as we get more extremely hot summer days and lesser winters. In addition, as these rising temperatures shifts the cycle of rain and increases evaporation, there will be longer and drier droughts which in turn can lower the water supply for life everywhere. Wildfires can turn out to be even more catastrophic due to warmer temperatures and drier areas combined with accumulated levels of fuel loads in the forest which has built up as a result of decades of fire suppression activities. Moreover, stronger hurricanes are also an effect of global warming as sea levels are rising and heavier rains are falling near the coasts. Overall, global warming is bringing climates that are changing real fast.
... of extreme weather and melting ice caps are indicators of global warming. Because these things will affect society, there are important decisions that have to be made in the present as well as in the future to secure people’s lives and lifestyles. The world community is aware of this serious issue and do already prepare for projects to slow down global warming, but they still have to improve. If the world leaders stop worrying about this issue, the future generations could be in danger. The future lifestyles will be affected by the decisions made in the present day. Society has much to improve to save energy and to lower greenhouse gas emissions. There are also small things people can do to help. Individuals can live a life without wasting energy or polluting the environment. Without effort, global warming endangers the quality of life for the future generations.
