Pet Owners are Held Responsible for their Pets Actions You're in a beautiful august day when all of the sudden you feel a animal jump on your back. The impact drops you to the floor and the collision you break your arm. The dog which attacked you didn’t just stopped there; he ferociously bit your forearm and jerked his head till he ripped through your flesh. Where are you supposed to get the money for your medication? Pet owners should be held responsible both legally and financially for their pets behavior because pets are just like any other animal and could change in a matter of seconds; they are also unpredictable which makes them treacherous. To begin with, people may argue that they didn’t know their pets behavior was that way, however they should've …show more content…
For example circuses, lions which are tamed to preform are still dangerous. They may say, "they're a playful one," but the animal could have a behavior shift, a change in behavior that could happen within seconds. This is what makes an animal more dangerous because you don’t know their next move. They are able to bring death upon you in a matter if seconds only because it's a part of their nature in being wild. Having a pet that belongs in the wild could be dangerous because it is said that a animal that has been tamed is only half a step away from being wild again. For example, in the golden lion award the lion who was tamed attacked the owner when he gave him his back for a second. In conclusion, pet owners should be held responsible both legally and financially for their pets actions because as stated before they cause fatal casualties. Not all pet are dangerous, but a loose pet is always a dangerous even if it’s a cat. Be a responsible pet owner and buy your pet the correct gear and harnesses to protect others but most important for your pets safety as
Have you ever had the pleasure of sitting beside an animal on the Skytrain on your commute to work or stood in line beside one at the grocery store? Did you know that there's a difference between service dogs and emotional-support animals? These are one of the many struggles that individuals are faced when in public. The article "Pets Allowed" written by Patricia Marx gives you an inside look on the struggles people are faced with while also explaining the rules and laws regulating emotional-support animals that many aren't aware of. Many business owners are being taken advantage of by pet
Going forward, this will allow for you company to better identify the liability risk. If they are considered employees, than Pet_Net will have a much greater liability exposure than if they are considered independent contractors. Also, I would suggest, if the video hasn’t already clearly mentioned, your policy on taking dogs off the leash in public. My other suggestion for preventing actions like this is to clearly outline in the agreement with the customers your policy for emergency situations. The customer needs to clearly understand that if one of Pet_Net’s agents feels as if the dog is in need of greater care, they are going to take the best interest of the dog and seek help. If the customer wishes against that, than it should explicated agreed upon to prevent any possible liability. If you decide to take my suggestions, I believe that Pet_Net will no longer experience these troubles, and be back on track of becoming a successful
Third, you should contact a firm of personal injury lawyers. The legal issues surrounding dog bites are often complex because most states (but not all) are strict liability jurisdictions. This means that dog owners are civilly liable for the dog bite as long as the victim neither trespassed nor provoked the dog. In some states, liability is automatic, while in others there are limitations upon it. A dog bite victim should seek counsel to determine if they reside in a strict liability state and to ensure they receive the maximum compensation allowed under the law.
The dog owner must have prior knowledge of the propensity of the dog to be violent.
It does little to address the main problem: irresponsible owners. As animals, dog’s do not have the same moral compass as humans. It is an owner’s job to train, socialize, vaccinate, neuter, license, and provide all necessary living essentials for their pet. Establishing and enforcing leash laws is also important in ensuring the safety of others. Citizens should be educated in knowing dog body language, behaviors that are safe around a dog, and what to when a dog shows hostility. Children not old enough to understand these guidelines should require adult supervision. Taking these steps will help prevent more victims from experiencing the physical and emotional pain related to a

Pets have been a part of the American life for forever. It comes to no surprise that the most popular pet in the United States is the dog. There are over 68 million dogs owned with a range of 130 dog breeds. Over the past ten years, it has become clear that the rate of dog bites has steadily been rising. There are over 4.7 million reported cases of dog bites each year in the United States alone. State officials have been hounding the dog world for years over this issue. Instead of blaming certain dog breeds for violence, people should instead be looking at the owners themselves (Pet-Owner Liability).
There are many statistics that come with animal abuse. Did you know that 71% of all domestic violence cases state that the attacker harmed the animal(s) as well (animalcruelty.weebly.com ; 5th dot)? 47 out of the 50 U.S. states treat animal abuse as a felony(www.humainsociety.org/issues/abuse_neglect/ ;4th paragraph). In all animal abuse cases 64.5% involve dogs (1212 cases, mainly pitbulls), 18% (337 cases), and 25% (470 cases) involve other animals being harmed (www.humainsociety.org/issues/abuse_neglect/facts/animal_cruelty_facts_statistics.html#.u3E...
The Seducer’s Diary is a book written by Kierkegaard that discusses the idea of individuality versus the greater good of society, the difference between what is selfish and what is ethical. Kierkegaard wrote discusses the difference between the artistic or self-persona and the person who thinks of the greater community under the segment Either/Or. Either/Or seems to be the question that the author would like the reader to know about, and Kierkegaard illustrates this though the two main characters that have an ongoing argument and ethical debate about this, and they are A and the Judge. The argument carries a lot of meaning for both parties, each with their own point of view and valid points to convince the reader
Taming is different to domestication in that tamed animals are born in the wild, removed, trained and the process repeated, while domesticated animals are bred in captivity (Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 2nd Ed).
Animal abuse for pets can range from neglecting to take care of the animal to the actual deliberate abuse of the animal such as beating, shooting, stabbing, or lighting the animal on fire.
Case #3: The Italian dog owner, Elisabetta Fabiani “We should be patient with him when he pees in the elevator, because he is like a child. Do we spank children when they wet their beds?” (56-57). This displays Elisabetta’s innate response to her pet’s wrongdoing: justification.
And this isn’t the only time a captive animal has turned on its trainer. Working with a predator that kills even when it’s not hunting is taking a risk lions can be trained but they cannot be tamed. in 2010 two lions turned on their trainer Oleksie Pinko during a show in the Ukraine, Pinko walked away with only minor injuries. No matter how long you work with exotic animals they will always be unpredictable and dangerous, Roy Horn of the Siegfried and Roy duo worked with tigers for most of his life, but however in 2003 Roy was attacked by a seven year old white tiger named Montecore. In 2008, a liger at Safari's Animal Sanctuary in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma killed a volunteer, thirty-two year old Peter Getz.
One of the animals that people allow to suffer in the U.S. is dogs. Currently 36 states either allow or mandate that animal shelters be willing to release unwanted animals to laboratories for testing, and about 80% of the experiments performed on these animals are funded by citizen tax dollars. Communities that have actually done away with pound seizures have actually shown that their pet shelters are able to place more pets in homes as well as having to euthanize fewer animals because of the increased confidence in the shelter. Some ways to help prevent this from happening to your pets are: Don’t let your pet run around unsupervised, keep an ID on your pets so that you can find them faster if they become lost, and to make provisions in your will for your pets to keep them from falling into poor conditions. Another side to the abuse of dogs is the use of puppy mills. These are buildings where puppies are bred to be sold in pet shops, but have to live in poor conditions before being sold. These dogs are housed in cramped and unsanitary cages, and have to deal ...
