More than 100 million animals are tested on each year. Animals including rats, mice, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, and many more are killed in U.S. laboratories. All of this is done for biology lessons, medical training, chemical, drug, and food testing, and many other experiments. The worst part is that most experiments involving animals are flawed, therefore wasting the lives of the animal subjects. Animal Testing is cruel and inhumane, and should be stopped in the near future.

According to neurologist Aysha Akhtar, over 100 stroke drugs that were tested on animals have failed on humans. Also, over 85 HIV vaccines failed in humans after working well in non human primates. Scientists could be using false data and then transfer a certain product over to humans which may cause damaging effects. It is key to remember that a animals body is very different from a human body, making them poor subjects for testing. Scientists may use false data to prove a product worthy for humans, and this can cause damaging effects.
Third, Animal testing is expensive. Caring for thousands of animals is alot of money, and using them for government research is even more dumb because all of the bad things that will end up happening to them. Over 7.3 million tax payers’ money was wasted on studies involving animals in 2016. PETA found 56.4 million of government funds spent on animal experiments. Of course, over many years all of these experiments failed to provide any useful results such as a cure to cancer. It’s not just the money, but the poor lives of these inocent animals being wasted for stupid hair
