Animal rights. Is this a topic we should be concerned with it a good thing or a bad thing? Some would say yes since, Over 50 million animals are killed every year because people use them for experiments, kill them for fur, put them into cruel sports, and people even skin them alive. We as humans need to find a way to stop animal cruelty and let animals keep their rights. Some People also think that animals don't have feelings like us, and that they can't-don’t use contractions in formal writing get sad or feel scared. What do you say about about this topic? Do think animals need rights or are you one of those people who think animals don't matter and they don't have feelings?-I would not use these last two sentences, it puts the reader on the

For example the book says " they are killed for food, pleasure to wear, and even religious acts." Before the animals in the laboratories are killed, some animals are forced to inhale toxic fumes and others are immobilized in restraining devices for hours at a time. Just think, you're sitting at home in peace while animals are being abused and killed, you can do something about it!
One of the most common animals that being killed for amusement are pit bulls. These dogs are used for fighting. This is really sad because pit bulls are so loyal to their masters that they will do anything to make their owners happy, even if it means killing another dog. Some people fight their dogs because they want entertainment or they just think it's funny. How could people be that cruel, would you put an end to it if you could?
Question two is " how many animals are killed each year and how do they die?
More than fifty million animals are killed every year. Some of the ways that animals are killed include gassing, electrocution, and neck
According to Marna Owen, from "Animal Rights; Yes or No? claims that each year 80,000 animals are used and often killed for the sake of medical research. He describes experiments in which puppies are burned, cats eyelids are sewn shut, and baboon's heads are crushed. A fiery debate arised and according to the book 6 people chained themselves to the psychol...
Pit bulls, the most dangerous dog to ever live. People like to train Pit Bulls to fight other dogs until they are either hurt or dead. The owners that train the dogs are usually the ones that make the dog turn out to be vicious and dangerous. “Each year, 1.2 million dogs are euthanized, approximately 40% of whom are Pit Bulls”(Moore). Pit Bulls don’t know better to understand which is right from wrong since they’re being raised up to fight and protect. Pit Bulls aren’t good family dogs due to the power of their strength and that they could attack at any moment.
Dogfighting is a “sport” that pits two well trained dogs against each other in a fights until one dog cannot fight anymore. Dogs are often killed at these events, because some dogs are ruthless because their owners have trained them to kill. The fights last, on average, one to two hours, and can leave marks forever. Spectators are able to bet on which dog will win. Currently, dogfighting is a felony offense in all 50 states, and is a federal offense as well. Not only can the instigators of the fights be charged, but all spectators can be charged as well. Dogfighting was brought to the sports world in 2007, when star quarterback Michael Vick was found guilty of having a dogfighting organization and hanging 3 dogs for “not performing well in ‘testing’ sessions”. In 2001, Vick and 3 friends, Purnell Peace, Quanis Phillips, and Tony Taylor started an organization which they called, “Bad Newz Kennel”. Vick also started his NFL career that year, and played for the Atlanta Falcons. When he got convicted in 2007, Vick was sentenced to 21 months in prison and 2 months in home confinement. Dog fighting may injure the dogs forever. For example, Georgia, a pitbull involved in “Bad Newz Kennels”, had her jaw broken at one time during a fight and her tongue is still messed up. Her tail also zigzags, and she has no teeth, they were all pried out of her mouth. Animal Rights would help Georgia and dogs involved in fights all around the country, so they know that they are safe [ALDF]. There are approximately more than 100,00 people in the U.S. involved in dogfighting. That number needs to cut down if the world is going to be a better place for people and animals to grow up in. That is why Animal Rights should occur more heavily in the
Almost all humans want to have possession and control over their own life, they want the ability to live independently without being considered someone’s property. Many people argue that animals should live in the same way as humans because animals don’t have possession of their lives as they are considered the property of humans. An article that argues for animal rights is “The case against pets” (2016) by Francione and Charlton. Gary L Francione and Anna E Charlton are married and wrote a book together, “Animal Rights: The Abolitionist Approach (2015). Francione is a law professor at Rutgers University and an honorary professor at University of East Anglia. Charlton is also a law professor at Rutgers University and she is the co-founder of the Rutgers Animal Rights Law Clinic. In this article Francione and Charlton mainly focus on persuading people to believe in animal rights but only focus on one right, the right of animals not to be property. The article is written in a well-supported manner with a lot of details and examples backing it up, but a few counter-arguments can be made against some of their arguments.
Every dog is born with the potential to be amazing and to change the world for the good. Yes, there is always that bad one in the bunch, but that doesn’t mean all of them are up to no good. Dogs are so malleable when they have a human that, just about in all dogs, you will see a similar character between the dog and the human. If a person is calm and easy going, usually, the dog is calm and easy going. If the person is aggressive and rude, the dog will take from the human and be aggressive and rude. This is exactly why fighting pit bulls is so cruel. You go out and force a dog to kill another dog multiple times every weekend, then wonder why he/she bites people. Pit bulls are so much more than just a mean snarl and big teeth.
Every year, over 100 million animals are killed for experimentation, biology lessons, medical/military training, and cosmetic, drug, and chemical testing. Animals are tortured all over the world and still lack lawful protection.
“There can be many reason for animal cruelty, like any other form of violence, is often committed by a person who feels powerless, unnoticed, or under control of others. Some who are cruel to animals copy acts what they have seen or that have been done to them, others see harming an animal as a safe way to get revenge against--or threaten-- someone who cares about that animal”. (“Animal… Statistics”) Concerns towards abusing animals have gone up in the past. Although there are not many cases on animal abuse, many have occurred. Abusers are charged with Criminal Animal Abuse and then sentenced to life in prison. Some animals that are physically abused are sometimes rescued by Animal Control, and are taken it to an animal shelter. However, many shelters have not had the space to keep the animals so the workers would have to put them down (Carol Roach). Researchers have shown that the main animals getting abused are dogs, chickens, horses, and livestock (“Animal...
Hundreds and millions of animals are killed everyday due to animal testing. The number of animal deaths in labs have halved since the 1970’s. An animal dies in a Canadian lab every 16 seconds! The contemporary scale of animal deaths due to animal testing is unacceptable! 17-22 million animals are tested on each year and at least half are put to death.
This is just one of the countless barbaric tortures forced upon animals. Studies show that in 1994, over 3,500 animals were killed in the United Kingdom, with almost another 21,000 more used in France for cosmetic purposes only (Celebrities, 95). These numbers reflect totals in only two countries. Research by Congress estimates that as many as 22 million animals are used annually for experimental research (Testing, 96). This research is funded by over $5 billion in tax revenue (Bio-Med, 97).
"The Case For Animal Rights" written by Tom Regan, promotes the equal treatment of humans and non-humans. I agree with Regan's view, as he suggests that humans and animals alike, share the experience of life, and thus share equal, inherent value.
Executive Summary Every 60 seconds, an animal is abused. Dogs, cats, horses, and many other types of animals are being neglected and tortured everyday, yet resulting in few and minor consequences for the perpetrators. Animal abuse is prevalent in the United States and has been an ongoing issue since the 1970's, and prior to. Society as a whole has chosen to avoid the facts and arguments about animal cruelty, because to some it is seen as acceptable and typical. It becomes much more frowned upon when people actually see the results of the cruelty, especially in the media.

Some of these inhumane ways of testing animals include force feeding, forced inhalation, food and water deprivation, prolonged periods of physical restraint, the inflictions of burns, and wounds to study the healing process. This is just a very small list of ways that animals are being inhumanely killed in advancements of medicine as well as science. “Many animals are even being killed by using carbon dioxide asphyxiation. Other ways in which animals are being killed include neck breaking, decapitation, etc. However, while this paper has focused on scientific and medical advancement this isn’t the only way in which animal cruelty as meet the blade and been killed.”( TRAANI, C., HABERLEN, J., C., &SPINNEY, R. A.) One of the largest and astounding numbers in the amount of animals being tested on or killed includes that of the cosmetics area. “For instance shampoo products when testing shampoo products rabbits are incapacitated in stocks with their eyelids held opened by clips, sometimes for multiple days so they cannot blink away the products that are being tested.”( Animal
Every year, thousands of animals are tormented, and then die during the animal experiments. Another fact is from Vivisection Information Network, there is a rough estimate from the European Union that 10.5 million vertebrate animals were used in animal experiments, which is 28,800 per day or one every three seconds. Around 18.5 million animals were used in the USA per year (Updated). Also, there are still a large amount of animals that have not been registered. Even though there are disadvantages and disagreement in using of animal experiment, there is also some evidences show that animal experiment is inevitable for the future progress, and the human beings would not have greater life quality without animal testing.
Over 100 million animals are used in experiments; 95% of these animals end up dying. Animals are killed and mutilated for the sake of science. Some experiments can involve “blinding, severing of limbs, damaging brain, and ingesting various drugs.” (Coster,
