There is a phenomenon that has been occurring for as long as humans have been around and continues to happen to this day, this is when animals rain down from the sky. Now you might find it hard to believe that there have actually been events in time when animals have rained down from the sky, but a quick web search would show you that it does happen and somewhat often. Now we are all familiar with the popular idiom; “It’s raining cats and dogs outside.” This term can be described as being; “something that you say when it is raining very heavily.” (Free Dictionary) I’m sure that you have used this expression at some point in your life, but have you ever been serious about animals fall from the sky during a rain storm? Chances are that when …show more content…
Throughout history there have been many accounts of animals falling from the sky in large groups, such as large numbers of dead birds falling in on area at once. An example of such an event would be when a large group of dead birds fell from the skies over Little Rock, Arkansas. According to the Huffington Post in 2011 almost four to five thousand red-winged blackbirds fell from the skies just before midnight on New Year’s Eve. At the time this was quite the event given the well-known scare of the end of the world happening in 2012, but scientists and game wardens soon put an end to the calls of an apocalypse. “Tests on the birds meanwhile revealed hemorrhaging consistent with blunt-force trauma. And the agency said radar images show flights of blackbirds on two occasions on New Year’s Eve suddenly taking off from a roost at Beebe estimating to contain 1.6 million birds.” (Huffington Post) In response to this research and findings the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine said the following; “In most instances, such traumatic injuries in wild birds are due to flying into stationary objects such as trees, houses, windows, power lines, tower, ect.” (University of Georgia) This type of event is still very strange, but is not what we will be focusing on in this …show more content…
You might find it hard to believe that animals can actually fall from the sky like rain; I mean it doesn’t sound very logical. In order to address this possible objection it’s important to look into history and find documented examples of this actually happening. According to Stephen Wagner, writer for aboutentertainment.com and a paranormal phenomena expert, there have been several different documented cases of frogs raining from the sky, dating back to as early as the nineteenth century; “In 1873, Scientific American reported that Kansas City, Missouri was blanketed with frogs that dropped from the sky during a storm. Minneapolis, Minnesota was pelted with frogs and toads in July 1901. A news item stated ‘When the storm was at its highest… there appeared as if descending directly from the sky a huge green mass. Then followed a peculiar patter, unlike that of rain or hail. When the story abated the people found, three inches deep and covering an area of more than four blocks, a collection of a most striking variety of frogs… so think in some places that travel was impossible.’” (Wagner) Here are two very good examples of the phenomenon that we are addressing today, when frogs literally fell from the sky during a storm, so much that it was

Credibility or Goodwill statement: Do not worry if your pupusas do not come out like you want them to. I have been making pupusas with my mom for Christmas ever since I was able to walk around the kitchen without getting my hair burned off.
January 15, 2009 a plane took off from New York’s LaGuardia and on its way to Charlotte, North Carolina. (“Editors,Chesley”) (“Airplane Crash-lands”)Part way through the flight a flock of geese hit the plane, damaging both engines and the thrust no longer worked. Immediately,
Dann Koeppel, non-fiction, “Taking a Fall” (2010); establishes that survival after free-falling from an airplane is possible and offers various tips and pieces of advice should once choose to do so. Koeppel uses scientifically-proven statistics to support his advice and furthermore illustrates specific survival stories to give credibility to his arguments. Koeppel’s purpose is to explain that survival from free-falling is possible in order to educate his audience on how to survive, as well as reassuring them that airplane accidents are not common events. Koeppel creates a confident and informed, yet humorous tone to explain pertinent survival information and quiet concerns of anxious travelers.
A fun fact that should be noted is the desire that many people have to go over the Falls in a barrel. Since the Falls were discovered 14 incredibly brave, or incredibly stupid, people have gone over the Falls in a barrel. One person went over in a barrel and survived, one of the few that did, and the next day slipped on a banana peel and died. The people that went over the Falls and survived have lived on to legacy and the people that died were honored, but one thing is for sure: the government is taking all possible precautions so that nobody else does this!
So, while your expectation of rain did come true, it did not come true because you expected it to. Again, the expectation itself has to cause some change in behavior to make the expectation come true.

On one rainy day the sloths were trying to get to there homes as fast as they could but we know that it would take them a while. Even when all the other animals were safely in there homes the sloth’s still had miles to go before they could get dry.
The sun dried grass crunched under David’s feet as he reached the mailbox, sweat plastering his golden hair to his forehead. The rural landscape of Shark Bay is bone dry; the lingering heat wave serving as a slap in the face with the wind blowing what is left of his fields into whirlwinds of dirt. His was once a land of luscious green landscape, the soft air turned branches into wind chimes as the trees swayed. These same trees have been bleached by the heat ridden gusts carving tortured sculpture in their trunks. Some might now see this world as one of desolate wasteland but David grew up with the land, this land was a living, growing friend that he knew, loved, and cared for as much as he did his wife and children.
Once upon a time high above the earth, fluffy white clouds drifted through the atmosphere. In the clouds lived a family Droplet of water, round and content with life. For as long as I could remember, I spent my days lying on my back, relaxing and soaking up the sun's warm rays. One day, I took my usual place in the sun but the light didn't seem to be as bright. In fact, as the day went on, it grew darker and darker, loud claps of thunder shook the cloud, and the Droplet felt as if he were getting so heavy he could hardly move. This is called precipitation.

Skydiving has been around since ancient Chinese times as a form of aerial stunts. Leonardo da Vinci and the Chinese are both credited for creating the parachute, but it was really in the 18th century when France both created it and used it by basically throwing themselves out of planes. Little did anyone know that skydiving would be one of the craziest sports today. Jumping out of a plane two and a half miles up into the sky would not be someone’s idea of a normal day. As bad as two and a half miles up in the sky is, try doing it traveling at a rate of one-hundred and sixty miles per hour with just a parachute to save you. To many people this would be a nightmare; but to some of us, it is the biggest thrill of our lives.
It was warm that day, but as the sun began to set it began to cool off. This led to a storm coming right at us. From our perspective, we were able to watch the storm form and start to come over us. It was amazing to have the colors of the sunset mixed with the clouds forming across the sky. Eventually, the storm reached us. We could see the rain starting to come down, soon reaching the edge of the lake. As it worked its way across the water, it looked as if a wall was coming at you finally just soaking you with the full force of the rain storm. There was another storm that occurred on the same trip, but this one came out of no where. We were outside in an open area playing badminton in our swim trunks. Then all of a sudden it started raining, but we continued playing anyway. Soon though, it started to hail, starting with just tiny pebbles eventually getting to be marble sized at its largest. This was by no means a dangerous hail storm, but it made me think about the formation of hail. This hail, started in the clouds as a water drop, then began to circulate through the cloud. Eventually it reached a specific size where the cloud could no longer hold onto it and it fell all the way down to the earth plopping down harmlessly on the ground. It truly is amazing how all these things happen
