Should any of the people who encounter Andy in the alley be held partially responsible for his death? Multiple people had encountered “The Royal” known as Andy in an alleyway while he was bleeding from a stab wound which he obtained during a fight with a rival gang known as “The Guardians.” The first individual to encounter Andy was a man who was intoxicated and happened to walk down the same alley that Andy was in. The second encounter happened with a couple that had heard Andy and the male companion known as Freddie decided to investigate the noise. He had found Andy in the alley bleeding out and calling for help. The last encounter did not physically see Andy but none the less Andy had still encountered an elderly woman who is “a little deaf.” Every one of these individuals did not help Andy for their own reasons. The intoxicated man had thought that Andy had too much to drink and thus fallen down. When a person is intoxicated they are not in their senses so he could not fathom the gravity of the situation in which Andy has put himself in. If he was sober he could possibly have chosen to help Andy instead of leaving Andy there in the rain. We get evidence from the text that the man is not in his senses, “the …show more content…

He saw The Royals jacket on him and he did not want to get involved because he did not want The Guardians to come after him or his loved ones. He had every right to walk out of there without doing a single thing. However, that may weigh on his conscience all depends on him and his moral values. He is not responsible for Andy’s health and well-being because when Andy joined The Royals he knew the consequences that could occur. Also, Freddie has to protect Angela, the women that he loves, from the Guardians. It would not be fair to put her in that position without her consent. It is stated in the story that all she wants is to go home so that people do not start to worry about
