3.2 Group level
In this level, we are switching from individual behavior to group behavior. A group is define as two or more individual, interacting and interdependent who are initially coming together to achieve particular objectives (Stephen P.Robbins, Timothy A.Judge, 2014). There are two types of group which are formal group and informal group (Stephen P.Robbins, Timothy A.Judge, 2014). Group can bring a lot of advantages to all the group members. For instance, work as a group is able to generate positive synergy through coordinated effort that allows organization to increase performance.
3.2.1 Input
Forming a group requires structures and the properties of the members must be defined.
(i) Group Structure
In the movie of “Puss in Boots”, there are some group formation among the character in the movie. From the movie, Puss and Humpty Alexander Dumpty has showed the characteristics of a group. Both of them are good friends since they are in the orphanage house. When Puss firstly discovers the magic beans, he feels very curious about it. I chose to view and analyze the film The Boondock Saints. There were many different things I focused on while viewing the film. I decided to brake them down into the following categories: narrative, theatrical elements, cinematography, sound, and the overall experience. I will begin with stating my personal interpretations and understandings of the narrative.
The film that interested me for this assignment was “Boyz n the Hood”. The movie was about a Los Angeles neighborhood expanding of drug and gang culture, with increasingly tragic results. It was about how one teen had family support to guide him on the right path in life regarding the social problems around him. The other two teens in the film wasn’t as fortunate and fell into the social problems of drugs, violence, and gangs; where one ended up dead.
The popular dancing movie, Footloose, was directed by Herbert Ross in 1984. Craig Brewer, produced a remake of Footloose in 2011. Both of the original Footloose and the remake, have multiple differences that split them apart. Although they follow the same theme, the sequence of events that took place happened in different orders and well as some characters were not present in the remake as they were in the original. The acting, dancing, and setting were varied slightly but it followed the same trend as the original. Directors Herbert Ross and Craig Brewer, directed the same film, while Craig Brewer made the film more modern, while keeping the film following the same trend.

Part I; Basic Elements of Group Process: An Overview is comprised of chapters 1-5. This section is obviously an overview of the various types of groups and discusses some general principles that can be applied in working with culturally diverse groups. Part I also covers some basic group leadership issues, ethical issues in group work, and the stages in the evolution of a group, from formation to termination and follow up.
Angela Carter utilizes her interpretation of “Puss in Boots” to convey a notion pertaining to gender roles within society; notions particularly pertaining to women’s place in the eyes of the populace. Through the character dynamic, and the perception of Puss, Carter is able to impress her ideas pertaining to women’s role within society upon the reader in a commendable manner.
According to Toseland and Rivas (2005), group dynamics are “the forces that result from the interactions of group members” (p. 64). These forces refer to either the negative or positive influences towards meeting members’ socioemotional needs as well as goal attainment within a group (Toseland & Rivas, 2005), like within my class work group experience. Some of dynamics that continue to emerge and develop in my group is the effective interaction patterns and strong group cohesion, which has generated positive outcomes and group achievement thus far.
Daniel-Day Lewis portrayed the character, Christy Brown, beautifully in the film, “My Left Foot”, directed by Jim Sheridan. The film focused on the story of Christy Brown, a man born with cerebral palsy, which only allows him to control his left foot and to at first speak in mumbled sounds. Christy was born into a very large and poor Irish family that tries to hide him from the community due to the embarrassment, except for his mother, who sees his true intelligence and potential. As Christy grows older, he begins to complete tasks with his left foot that at first seemed impossible, like writing a word, painting a picture, holding objects, and even kicking the front door to save his mother. A major theme in the film is, “he struggle to overcome extreme obstacles and triumph is a testament to the human spirit”. Even though Christy’s cerebral palsy restricts him from doing selected activities and causes people to view him differently, he eventually finds a way to overcome what he is restricted of accomplishing and makes the most out of what he is capable of.
Analysis of Movie Moulin Rouge In this essay I will be analyzing in depth four scenes from Baz Luhrmann's critically acclaimed Moulin Rouge that was released in 2000. I will be analyzing the opening sequence, the sequence in the Moulin Rouge itself, the two dancing sequences 'Like a Virgin' and 'Tango Roxanne' and the final scenes of the film. Throughout this essay I will be commenting on the filming techniques that Luhrmann uses and what affects these have on the audience, also I will be analyzing how the film is similar and different to typical Hollywood Musicals.
There are many types of communication. The first one I would like to communicate is vertical communication. The definition of vertical communication is the flow of information both downward and upward through the organizational chain of command. Some also refer to it as formal communication. Downward communication kind of speaks for itself; top-level management produces decisions that are communicated down to tell employees how to perform their job.

A social group can be defined as a family, a peer group, a sport team group, a church group, and a work group. These are all similar in the way that these groups consist of a number of people who have regular contact with each and are interested in the same things. A family typically lives together and interacts with each other on a daily basis. The members of the family share the same traditions and usually have the same expectations as to how each member is to fulfill their particular role in the group. A peer group is a collection of friends who enjoy spending time together doing things in which they all have an interest. They may like to play cards, they might like to go dancing, or they may like to just hang out and talk. A few examples of a sport team group would be a wrestling team, a football team, or a volleyball team. There are several types of church groups; such as a greeting team, a support group, a Bible study group, and a volunteer group. Being part of a church group can significantly enhance a person’s life in a positive way. Serving God can fill a person’s soul with such good feelings. A work group is a team of people who are employed by the same company. There can be several different groups within a company. Each group has a set of responsibilities to fulfill for the company.
Groups are the essence of life in a society for the reason that everyone is born into one, such as to a mother and father. Your family, church congregation, faculty at a university, and sports teams whether professional or not are all examples of groups. In a general sense, " Groups are people who have something in common and who believe that what they have in common is significant." Societies are the largest and most difficult groups that are studied by social scientists. They are people who share a culture and a territory; they also contain smaller groups within itself. " The types of groups within a society are primary groups, secondary groups, reference groups, social networks, in-groups and out-groups."
Several experiments and researches have been conducted that have focused on how people behave in groups. The findings have revealed that groups affect peoples’ attitudes, behavior and perceptions. Groups are essential for personal life, as well as in work life.
