As an audience member, I completely fell in love with the story of the Woodsman. Every time his wife panged on his chest to remind him that he had a heart, mine fluttered in unison. The sound and lighting only made the most intense moments more so, and it joined the characters together, whether it was when the flashlights were lightning bugs or when the main characters “la-la-ed” together to understand the beat of chopping down a

First of all, I enjoy the movie “The Lorax”; my children and I watch it often. Based on a book by Dr. Seuss, “The Lorax” is about a man named the Once-ler, who is an entrepreneur in search of making it big. The Once-ler stumbles upon an untouched wilderness where beautiful Truffula trees grow everywhere. The trees are just what he needs, so he harvests the Truffula Trees to create his product called a Thneed (a thing that all people need). The Once-ler meets a creature called the Lorax, who speaks for the trees and the interests of the natural environment and its native residents. The Lorax advises him not to cut down and destroy all the trees but the Once-lers greediness to mass produce the Thneeds leads to the extinction of Truffula Trees,

Eight months later, when “waking up has actually hurt” everyday since Jim’s death, George resolves to shoot himself. On this last day of his life, despite urging himself to “just get through the goddamn day,” imagery of clocks, their ticking, and discussions of the past, present, and future indicate George’s misled attempt to control time.
Many sands had the tree known; many green neighbors had come and gone, yet the tree remained.
