The Antichrist will present the Mark of the Beast as his gift to the world. The Mark will bring salvation. It will be the answer to the world’s crisis, a crisis that has the world on the brink of destruction. Yet James 1:18 says every perfect gift comes from above. The Saints in this period will be suffering under a sun, moon and stars going through incredible changes and disruption (Joel 2:31, Luke 21:25). The Antichrist will attempt to change the time and seasons (Daniel 7:25). James reassures the saints, telling them that there is no variation or shifting shadow in the Father of Lights. Satan even seeks to imitate this title of God as he is said to present himself as an “angel of light” (2 Cor. 11:14). In fact, the name Lucifer means the …show more content…
Believers during the tribulation will live in a self-centered, violent and evil world. James encourages believers to put aside anger and wickedness and instead, humbly submit themselves to God’s Word implanted. These are traits contrary to The Antichrist, whose followers will also be implanted — with the Mark of The Beast. This will be a time when being a doer of the word is not just an evidence of genuine faith, but a necessity for survival. There will be an apostate religion in that day made up of deluded individuals who cannot see themselves as they truly are. I have said elsewhere that Donald Trump is a man with no ability to see himself as he is; there is no conscience. Like James 1:23-24 so eloquently illustrates, Trump is a man that, upon looking at himself in a mirror, walks away with no ability to retain any true understanding of his wicked self. This psychological compartmentalization will be pandemic during The …show more content…
There is no reference to orphans and widows before or after in James. It reminds me of the last verse in 1 John which says (again, out of nowhere), “Keep yourselves from idols.” (1 John 5:21). What is interesting is that John’s epistles are also General Epistles, and the only books to mention The Antichrist by that name. The Mark of The Beast is idolatry in its ultimate and blasphemous form.
Why is James 1:27, a verse about orphans and widows, placed seemingly out of context? Recall, Jesus Christ and Antichrist are opposites. Jesus heals the broken (Psalm 147:3). The Antichrist does not. (Zechariah 11:16). Jesus cares for widows (Mark 12:43). The Antichrist does not. (Luke 18:3-5). Jesus cares for the orphans (Psalm 10:14, 68:5). The Antichrist does not (Psalm 94:6) and neither will many people in the last days.
In the previous verses, James speaks of not just being a hearer of the word, but a doer. In the midst of The Tribulation, millions, indeed billions, of people will die and countless others will be displaced from their families, either through death or spiritual enmity. Many will perish in super-natural plagues and disasters that will inflict the earth. Others will die by starvation, disease and warfare. Widows and orphans will become common place. If one claims to be a “saint” during such time, they will do so as countless widows and orphans surround them with no food, clothing or
of children, rising up and teaching them. He says that salvation will come from the people
The ultimate estimation of the Bush candidacy in terms of Revelation is not so much that it will positively usher in the End Times, but the indicators are undeniable. We have become the corrupt society that Revelation predicts. We have become ripe to receive the deceiver.

Donald’s antichristian character is mockery of God. Unless directly asked about it, Trump never invokes the name of God. While he will occasionally close a speech with, “God bless you,” most often, he will not. I do not recall Tump ever saying the name, Jesus Christ. If a prayer or a moment of silence is observed, he never bows his head. The most classic of video clips showed TBN’s false prophets of the Health and Wealth Gospel gathered around Trump to “lay hands” on him. Trump appeared to want to crawl out of his see-through skin, perhaps yet unaware that many present would become his workers of iniquity. They were anointing the Son of Satan himself.
...hem. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’ He took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.”
....” This scripture is consistent with the growing youth movement. Young people are receiving salvation, witnessing and praising God with a passion that has not been seen in the recent past. All of this seems to point to the Second Coming of the Lord, which makes the work of the ministry all the more urgent. Take a look at your own church. Does it have a passion for young people or has it written them of to being a condemned generation? Jesus said in John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” Review your every day world and see if there is a young person that you could influence and share the news that Jesus loves them. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 9:37 “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
The novel Good Omens is a satirical rendition of Armageddon in almost all aspects. The story begins with the coming of the Antichrist, brought into the world as a human infant though it is anything but. An angel and a demon, Aziraphale and Crowley respectively, and rather good friends considering their rather checkered past, have teamed up to ensure that The End is, in the very least, late. They take roles in molding the child to see both the sides of good and evil, trying to make it so that the boy will not be able to choose a side wholeheartedly when the time comes. However, when the boy is supposedly meant to start showing his powers, they realize that all their hard work had been wasted, and that this boy was an entirely normal human child. The genuine son of Satan was, in actuality, Adam Young, and was misplaced at birth into the care of two very normal parents in a very normal little hamlet in South East England. Adam grows up “not [as an] Evil Incarnate or Good Incarnate… [but] a human incarnate” (366). He is as human and innocent as an eleven year old can be; still finding himself and his three best friends provoking terror and irritation amongst their more elderly or respectable neighbours, though that is more excused as a preadolescent quirk rather than wicked. Wicked happens to be what Newton Pulsifer, a relatively newly dubbed Witchfinder Detective of Witchfinder Sargent Shadwell’s Witchfinder army, is looking for. He is given the task to search through newspapers and anything of the sort to find evidence of anything remotely witchy, which happens to be precisely what Anathema Device, actual self-proclaimed witch and descendant of the most accurate and useless psychic in history, can be found doing. Admittedly, she is ...
1 James 2:14-16(NIV) states “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?” This passage tells us that we must treat each other with the same care and compassion that we would like to be treated with. Surely, spreading the example of God’s wonderful love is more important than just preaching it. We should not pass by someone in need and say “I’ll pray that you get better soon,” and do nothing to help. The Bible commands us to be our brother’s keeper. This compassion for those who are injured or in need can also be found in 2 Psalm 82:4 “Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” The Bible is not asking us to help if we have the time or if we can spare a few minutes away from social media, instead it is instructing us to help those we

The Bible as a whole is all about Jesus. For those who believe in Him, he is the pivotal character in all of scripture. While the Bible contains much about Jesus, John 17-21 highlights the climax of all scripture, which is his death, burial, resurrection and an opportunity for people to know the truth (John 18:37, NIV). This is why it is important to study this particular passage. For my essay I will give an indication of the settings, and indication of the main conflicts driving the plot and the extent to which those conflicts are resolved, observations on how Jesus is portrayed and the role of the other characters in providing a context for Jesus’ interactions with others, a statement on how this passage
Based off the text and how I interpreted the word Samaritan, I thought that it was just talking about Jesus getting water from a woman that just happened to live in Samaria. I have no idea about what was the point other than her being kind to him. When I have been in church I was always told just that the basic "moral" of the story was be kind to your neighbors, and just by reading the book of John I decided there was no need to question it. John is mostly about showing why people should believe in Jesus and that it is important to let other people know, his stories so they can also believe in the "messiah"
What those people experienced was something like what the Hebrew mentioned in his prayer - “Though the fig tree does not blossom, and no fruit is on the vines; though the produce of the olive fails, and the fields yield no food; though the flock is cut off from the fold, and there is no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will exult in You, the God of my salvation.” What he means in these lines is that people should be able to not only enjoy God and His presence when “full” or content, but also when they are “empty” and are faced with hardship(s). The true people of faith will have the courage to praise God despite the hard times and distress. Though the Hebrew claimed to be aware of the difficult comings, he proclaimed that he will still stay on God’s side and his faith will help him overcome it. On the other hand, what the Hebrew actually wanted was for God to not only talk about his works but to “revive it; in our own time make it known.” He requests God to renew what he has done in order for it to be seen by the world’s eyes. What also emphasizes the revival is the choice of wards. For example, “O” Lord - the “O” is a symbol for an intense feeling. And the repetition of “Lord” emphasizes the author of revival which is
Mankind lives in a physical, tangible, material world, which is influenced by the invisible, spiritual world around us. The present day spiritual world is just as existent as it was nearly two thousand years ago when Lord Jesus walked the earth. The Old and New Testaments reveal to us from time to time, glimpses of this spiritual world. These Testaments provide us with the most factual information regarding Satan. Unfortunately, many have been misinformed and do not thoroughly comprehend Satan’s origin and what his purpose concerning the spiritual and physical world. There is a great need to set the record straight regarding Satan especially in our hour with its present angel craze, channeling and a belief in spirit guides. I chose Satan as the subject of my paper because I am one who does not thoroughly comprehend who he is and what his purpose in both the spiritual and physical world is.
"The Da Vinci Code is simply an entertaining story that promotes spiritual discussion and debate and suggests that the Book may be used to "as a positive catalyst for introspection and exploration of our faith".
The apostles face the persecution Jesus forewarns of when the Sadducees confront them in the temple for teaching the resurrection (Acts 4:1-4), when Sanhedrin calls for a public trial of the apostles (Acts 5:17), and most courageously, Stephen, who is martyred for his preaching (Acts 6:8-8). Stephen’s martyrdom, like Jesus’ is over his teachings, and he is similarly testified against. Angered by his words, they bear false witness against him, saying “We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.” They [members of the synagogue] stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, accosted him, seized him, and brought him before the Sanhedrin. They presented false witnesses who testified, “This man never stops saying things against [this] holy place and the law” (Acts 6:11-14). When Jesus is brought before Pontius, the people bear false witness against him saying he is teaching blasphemy, claiming to be God. Ultimately, Stephen is martyred because he angers the Sanhedrin. Giving up his life for his belief in Jesus Christ is perhaps the ultimate way that Stephen could go out into the world as Jesus had been sent by his
