What is banquet? Banquet is a place where many guests having their Food and beverage together. You can say banquet is a proper place to party. But this party is held and fixed with date, time and price. Like you want to hold a party with 300 people, then you have to fix the date, time and price of food and banquet hall. During the Week Ten of this semester, we held the banquet with the theme of the opera phantom. The color of our banquet is based on black, white and gold. The whole banquet is based on a love story to run through. We have four performances throughout the banquet. Including waltz, singing performances and modern ballet. In the beginning of the banquet, I was in the service team of beverage. We decided to serve two wines for …show more content…
The argument between the managers and team members. The first argument is about that leaders never really heard and think about the ideas from the others. Always say yes perfunctorily or just say no. But fortunately, after a clear discontent and controversy, the manager with everyone to have a meeting, for solving the misunderstanding between managers and everyone. For me, the biggest problem is that managers were not doing a good job at the time. We all know because the service cannot ask other classes or the people who is from year one’s help, but because the managers put too much attention on the service of the manpower but forget the other departments are also lacking of manpower. In the beginning, each person chose their favorite department, because I am better at dancing so I chose the entertainment department, but the human resource department was told me because of the service manpower is not enough, so I have to go to the service team. I was accepting that, and I learned everything about the service process. But unreasonable is that when all the time come back to tell me, the entertainment department of the manpower is not enough, I need to help, but the service here I can not let go, leading to the time I do both sides of the Things to remember the two departments of the process, at that time the situation is really very confusing. Until less than a week before the …show more content…
The human resource department was saying that the volunteers in entertainment team who are from first year student were complaining something to them, but the entertainment manager didn’t know anything about this until banquet finished. Actually it is the problem about communication between the managers. They didn’t talk about this at the time and solve this together. In the beginning of the banquet, we had the class meeting at least twice a week, but the Managers spent one - third of the time complaining about why somebody was not there, and the rest of the time was spent arguing until the end of the meeting did not discuss the banquet helpful things. It’s all useless. This is why there were more classmates that do not want to join the class meeting. If I am the banquet manager, I won’t let it to become like this. First of all, I will be in the class meeting before the first and each department managers to discuss whether there are any problems in various departments can not be resolved, and then to make a list that what anything else need to make a decision with everyone. Finally class meeting. During the class meeting, I will write down all of the ideas from everybody, at the end of the class meeting, call the managers of each department to discuss with the ideas which from classmates which can be used which do not need. “For
The worst essay from this semester is Magical Dinners by Chang-rae Lee. Why even have this atrocity on the syllabus? Magical Dinners is very blandly written (almost as bland as the food his family makes). This was made obvious by the fact that nobody in our class was into it and there was silence during the whole discussion instead of lots of participation. Furthermore, the only rhetoric I could find Lee even attempting to use was code grooming, which was highly unsuccessful because the meals that his mom made did not sound good and were unable to grab my attention or appetite. This is illustrated when Lee writes “She cooks an egg for me each morning without fail. I might also have with it fried Spam or cereal or a slice of American cheese,
Throughout Eveline Adomait and Richard Maranta’s Dinner Party Economics there is continuous discussion surrounding the problems that economies face around the world and the various methods that can be used to alter the state of the current economic conditions. Changes in consumer spending patterns can become a problem for the economy as a whole, potentially resulting in over-inflation or recession. Implementing discretionary policies such as monetary policy through changing interest rates, and fiscal policy through taxation and government spending, makes it possible to fix these economic problems.
My Final Banquet: It was my final moments as a Chelsea High School cheerleader. My final banquet was quickly approaching. It was then that I realized I was not ready for the season to be over. I stood in front of my friends, fellow cheerleaders, and their families as they watched and waited for me to recite my last words as the season came to an end. It took hours for me to write about what my teammates and coaches meant to me.
Lloyd Webber’s widely regarded masterpiece Phantom Of The Opera uses key motifs and themes throughout the musical to establish its characters and scenes in an effective manner. Throughout the production the motifs, themes and songs all develop to reflect the changes their respective characters undergo. This is particularly evident when analysing The Phantom, his motifs and songs, and how they develop throughout the story.

The table is set and the aroma of herbed chicken, buttered cheddar rolls and sweet corn risotto fills the air. This dinner party is going to be one to be remembered! I have chosen to invite three very special people to dine with my Husband and I. They each have been chosen for a very specific reason. The people I chose are; Abraham Lincoln, Mary of Bethany, and Truly Wright. The evening will be one of enlightening and enjoyment as we get to learn and converse with these amazing individuals.
The main idea in Zadie Smith’s ‘The Waiter’s Wife”, is that perseverance and hard work pays off in the end. Throughout the story Samad and Adlsana always thought about their future in hopes to improve their life. One thing about these two characters is that no matter what they were going through they tried looking at the positives, they kept saving their money in hopes to move, and the never took anything for granted or felts as if they were entitled to anything. All Amad wanted to do was do his best to support and protect his family. For example “from six in the evening until four in the morning was work and the rest was sleep” (3059). This shows how hard Samad worked to provide for his family and eventually it payed off. "Samad was moving
People work in groups or teams everyday whether in their career, education, political organization, church, or any other social setting. Conflict while working in teams or groups is inevitable. When taking people of different backgrounds, personalities, moral, and ethical beliefs and putting them together in a group, conflict will arise. The key to achieving your team goals is to construct and conquer your goals with keeping the greater good of the team in mind. Conflict as it arises should be combated and abated through swift and thorough resolution techniques. When dealt with properly conflict resolution can give rise to a cohesive and productive team.
A group can only be called a team if the members are actively working together toward a common goal. A team must have the capability to set goals, make decisions, solve problems, and share responsibilities. For a team to be successful, trust must be earned between its members by being consistent and reliable (Temme & Katzel, 2005). When more than one person is working on a particular task, inconsistent views or opinions commonly arise. People come from different backgrounds and live through different life experiences therefore, even when working towards a common goal, they will not always see eye to eye. Major conflict that is not dealt with can devastate a team or organization (Make Conflict Work, 2008). In some situations, conflict can be more constructive than destructive. Recognizing the difference between conflict that is constructive to the team and conflict that is destructive to the team is important. Trying to prevent the conflict is not always the best way to manage conflict when working within a team setting. Understanding conflict, what causes it, and how to resolve conflict effectively, should consume full concentration.
Albert Camus's "Banquet Speech" is revolved around the meaning of art. He defines art as a concept of connecting communities as a whole. Although, art is not a reason for the artist to distinct themselves from the real world. Camus stands behind this when he admits his art is to foresee the truth behind this world and to see deeper into the people suffering from the truth. For him, as the writer, he believes his art work reaches out to everyone because he does not see himself any different from the readers. They are all the same. No judgements or hatred takes place in the piece of work but only the beauty of the community.
Differences within the team are the major reason for conflict. This stems from differences in opinion, attitude, beliefs, as well as cultural back grounds and social factors. The Conflict can be positive which is functional and supports or benefits the organization or a person’s main objectives (Reaching Out, 1997). Conflict is viewed as positive when the conflict results in increased involvement form the group, increased cohesion, and positive innovation and creativity. Conflict tends to be positive as well when it leads to better decisions, and solutions to long-term problems.
Along with the preparation for conflict resolutions, understanding the situation in the team during the conflict is important. Clarifying positions along with listing the facts and all the necessary analyzation of the particular situation helps in resolving the conflict in a team. Applying this process can effectively address and resolve the conflict in a
Conflict is a basic aspect of teamwork (Levi, 2001), since the number of decisions that a team needs to make often evokes feelings of discomfort and stress. Conflict very often arises from a clash of different working style, ideas, interests, needs, and wants. Team conflicts can be due to high stress level. It has been experienced that in teamwork there can be conflicts and conflicts creates dissatisfaction among the employees. It is important that conflicts be addressed in such a way that it has adverse effect and it is very important to address the conflicts on the spot otherwise it would be difficult to handle the conflicts. (Jehn, 1995).When team member s disagree about the task themselves that how these tasks should be performed then task related conflicts occurs. It is also called task led-conflicts, it occurs when persons disagree over the understanding of tasks and their goals it is a disagreement between two team members in a group over the decisions. They have differences of opinions about a certain issue. (Stewart, Sims & Manz, 1999). Disagreement can be caused by differences in viewpoint and values, differences of opinion about tasks and differences in expectation about the impact of decisions (Levi, 2001).
When the group was first formed, not every member of the team were collaborating and certain conflict were raised. Discussions were held to diminish the conflict and effective interpersonal communication were used to increase the moral and better understanding on how to work as a group. The results appear to d...
I did enjoy the essay, but the fact it was so long was one of the things that killed my enjoyment of the essay. I can 't complain though because the more I read, the more interested I became with her thoughts as she evaluated society and the roles men and women had throughout her time period I like how she came to the conclusion that she was able to accept the way men and women think wasn 't their fault but society 's upbringing.
