Bread has become a staple food in the majority of Americans lives. Through Bobrow-Strain’s novel of White Bread: A Social History of the Store-Bought Loaf (2012) he examines what has changed the patterns and perceptions of white bread and the industrialization of white bread through-out American History. Bobrow-Strain discusses alarming thoughts about what is done to the bread through control, money, likes, dislikes and the economics of the industrialization of bread. One of the main aspects of why white bread is examined so intensively in his book is because of how people associate it with a certain race, class or even gender. Bobrow-Strain shows the reader how white bread says a lot about who we are and who we want to be as a society.

Bruegger's Bagels was founded in 1983 in Troy, New York by Nord Brue and Mike Dressell. They were the first people bringing New York-style bagels to neighborhoods all over North America. To make their recipe and baking process perfect,Brue and Dressell learnt with a professional bagel baker from New York City for two years and half. And they make the bagel have a crisp shell and soft, chewy center. Until that time, bagels were known mostly as a local food and not recognized outside of New York. At that time, less than 30 percent of Americans had ever tasted a bagel.
First, it all starts with the dried seaweed, known as “Nori”, dried to perfection; crispy, flavorful, and fit to be consumed as a crucial part of sushi. Rice joins in, and is spread out on the seaweed. All the toppings get tossed into the mix, and brought into existence is a bundle of pride and enjoyment: sushi. As a passionate sushi lover, I follow the motto “Sushi is love, sushi is life. If it isn’t sushi, it’s never sushi.” Countless people around in my presence have eaten sushi; I stand by the judgment that it’s simply one of the best foods that exist. It’s not perfect, there are some negligible points that never arrive at the point of being singled out, noticed even, those issues right under your nose. People notice them for a split second and wonder about what could be bothering

I am a first-generation Filipino-American in my family. Though I was born and raised in the United States, my childhood meals were often influenced by my parents’ culture. One food that was very present in our lives was coconut. I remember coconuts being incorporated into many of my meals, mainly desserts. We could have the coconut meat prepared different ways: shredded into our food, garnished on top of our food, or scraped straight from the shell. We often drank the coconut water as well. Family parties often included buying a bunch of coconuts to cut and prepare just seconds before consuming them. My mother even used coconut oil for my hair and skin as a child, since it is so full of nutrients. When I have visited the Philippines, I saw
