Arabic and The International Threat Arabic language is one of the most common languages in the world. It is the language of the holy Quran which has deep respect among Muslims. But we need to ask ourselves one important question, does Arabic still have the same standard as one of the main languages in the world or has it become one weak and old fashioned one? Does English really threat Arabic? This is a very hard debate ,but we need to observe many facts about Arabic and English to be able to find a proper answer. It has become the most common language for teenagers, businessmen, trade ,experts and of course high class people . English has invaded the Arabic society by being the language of almost all the popular social media applications like Instagram, face book, twitter, and snap chat. Even the names of those applications are written in English. Also the options for each application is mainly written in English. All these factors are in favor of English. Also all the modern gadgets names or brands are known as English words like play station, X box, Laptop, USB, memory card and so on .All these are imposing the English language over Arabic. In addition, all the names of all the famous make up brands, perfumes, clothes ,cars and their items or terms are all in English like blusher, contour, top, high heels , concealer, leggings etc… . Besides, the names of the most famous shops, Malls, and restaurant are all in English for example: Pizza hut, MacDonald’s. This pushes people to use English …show more content…

Last point is that English is the most common international language which helps people from different countries to communicate easily . Also because of the difficult economic status in some countries, many candidates around the world aim to study, work and live in foreign countries because it offers better life environment and in fact those countries are encouraging people to settle in . This can be fulfilled only through learning English. All the previous factors pushes Arabic people to use English unconsciously in all aspects of life and of course leads to a gradual replacement of some Arabic words by English ones ,As a result the Arabic terms will completely vanish and only the English ones will remain. This is considered a direct and dangerous threat against Arabic. Also, after some time many English vocabulary will be added to Arabic which will cause a sever defect to our original language and makes it lose its unique
