Snipers had to stay put overnight without being able to leave their location to make sure their teammates do not get ambushed, sniped from the terrorist, or walk into a trap. The terrorist would set traps in the ground and the sniper would have to watch to make sure the Americans do not walk into it or they would catch them planting the bomb and kill them in the
process. In conclusion, American Sniper was a great movie to watch. It should be watched by all over the age of 15. It did involve content that would be wrong for someone of a young age to watch. This movie can teach you all the difficult situations soldiers are put in on a day-to-day basis to give us our freedom. They risk their lives so that we do not have to. The movie can be used as an educational purpose or used to get other involved in the army. It was very entertaining, great acting, very informing, and proved many points. Overall it was a great movie that should be watched by all.
In “The Sniper” the conflict is man vs man, which means main character is tasked with killing his enemy, but it proves to be quite a challenge. Even though there were many challenges the sniper followed through with his job and persevered even after he was shot in the arm. Wanting to kill his enemy, stay alive, and be one step closer to ending the war was his main goals. Being brave, he took off his hat, placed it on his gun, and raised it above the edge of the roof. Instantly the enemy shot at it and the sniper, pretending to be dead, waited until the enemy got up for him to shoot him. He did some quick thinking and, with determination, handled the conflict quite well.

Chris Kyle is a Navy SEAL that specialized in sniping. He is most known because he is the most lethal sniper in military history. It is also possible people had more sniper kills than him, but one part of being in the military is you must record every confirmed kill, if it is not confirmed as dead it cannot be counted. Chris Kyle is said to have somewhere near 160 confirmed kills. He was known for many other things though too, besides his amount of kills, he is also known for having a strong faith in God. Another thing he was known for among SEALs in particular is his great acts of courage. Chris Kyle also had a servant heart, it ended up tragically killing him on February 2, 2013. "There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful thananything that bleeds. Don 't wait until you break. - Laurell Hamilton" This is oftentimes the sentiment felt by soldiers who have served in active duty and have been witnesses to tragedies that leave them emotionally scarred. “The Sniper” is a short story written by Liam O’Flaherty that was released on January 12, 1923 in an issue of a weekly socialist publication, called The New Leader. It’s a very easy read with a surprise twist at the end that I felt complimented what the author was trying to convey about civil wars. I enjoyed reading this story because of its militaristic and subtle political theme. It shows what humans are when conflict stirs. A huge downside to civil war is brought to the surface with this story’s surprise ending. I would recommend reading this because I believe it really shows the true nature behind wars and the effect it can have upon humans involved in wars. Being threatened for your life, a human can overcome unsurmountable feats with critical thinking and wit, but it’s not without its downfalls as this story shows.
Chris Kyle, a name that comes with a lot of recognition; some good, and some bad. The most substantial title comes with being named as the most lethal sniper in United States’ history, with over one hundred, and sixty confirmed kills.
Kyle served U.S. Navy SEALS from the year 1999 through 2009. As of right now he is known as the most successful and deadliest sniper in American military. In his book he said that the first kill he had was a woman with a grenade getting ready to launch it at the marines close to her. He saved the lives of all those marines. He would end up having a total of 160 confirmed kills, but he had a total of 255 claimed kills. A claimed kill is where you shoot the target, but you are not sure exactly if it kill the target or not. On his tour in Iraq, insurgents would call him the “Devil of Ramadi” and they had a bounty on him. The bad thing is they did not even know what he looked like. They had a picture of a different sniper on the flyers they hung in the local area. Kyle was shot a total of two times. He would also involved in a total of six IED attacks. An IED is a improvised explosive device, which is a basic bomb that is made and used by an unauthorized person. Kyle decision to leave the SEALS was based on family. He had a child that he had barely got to know because he was always overseas. Also it was putting a lot of pressure on his marriage. So he decided it was best for him to leave the SEALS, and was honorably discharged in 2009 (Adam Read). Chris served a total of 4 tours with the Navy SEALS. His latest tour was in Iraq. He showed a lot of bravery. Kyle was awarded some of the highest medals one can earn

His lifelong interest in the military eventually led him to the Navy in 1999, where he quickly gained admittance to the SEALS, the force’s elite special operations unit. After weathering a demanding selection process, Kyle was selected for and trained as a sniper. After the tragic events of 9/11 attacks in the United States, there has been over a hundred terrorism-themed films such as Black Hawk Down and American Sniper that portrays a generalization of Muslims with violence, uncivilized, and is described as crude villains (Aguayo, 2009). This has unfortunately affected the way the American public view the Muslims negatively, which in turn leads to discrimination, prejudice, and irrational fear of Muslims (Islamophobia). The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) stated that the American Sniper film has caused a significant rise in violent hate and racist threat targeting the Arab and Muslim-American communities due to the promulgation of anti-Muslim propaganda and bigotry (Khalek, 2015).
“Shooter” is an action movie that was produced in 2007. It starts off by visually describing the military career of the protagonist, Bob Lee Swagger. His spotter and best friend gets killed by enemy fire, but Swagger survives. After this scene, the movie describes the life that he now lives in the United States. He decides to live in the woods with his dog after he retired from the military. Everything goes as Swagger wants it to until a supposed branch of the government shows up at his door and needs his expertise to aid them in preventing the assassination of the United States president (Rotten Tomatoes). From this point the movie takes a turn that Swagger cannot come back from.
The story is representing Mr. O’Flaherty and his brother in the war. Liam O’Flaherty was a great author and created many pieces of work that have become very popular since they were published. In “The Sniper”, it shows readers that war only makes people simple objects, how bad it can affect people and the side effects, and some experiences will be with some people till they die. This short story of the two snipers was the story of what happened to Mr. O’Flaherty, and how he got a mental illness from killing his own brother. In “The Sniper”, it can show some of the true horrors that a war can bring into a person’s
