Abu Musab al-Zarqawi- Born October 30, 1966, in Al-Zarqa, Jordan. Iraqi militant who as the self-styled leader in Iraq of the Islamic militant group al-Qaeda, was thought by many to have been the leader behind numerous terrorist acts, including the murder in 2002, the 2003 bombing, and the beheading of several foreign hostages. He dropped out of school as a boy and allegedly became involved in criminal activities. He traveled in 1989 to Afghanistan, where he reportedly forged ties with al-Qaeda. After returning to Jordan in the early 1990s, he was put in prison for terrorist activities, but he was released in a general amnesty in 1999. Zarqawi was little known outside the region until U.S. officials in 2003 identified him as an associate of al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden. Zarqawi was killed in a U.S. military air strike on June 7, 2006, in Baʿqubah, Iraq.

In past history, heroes come in many different facets of life. The military has produced many of these heroes. Chris Kyle a United States Navy SEAL was one of those heroes. Chris grew up in various locations in Texas. His father worked for AT&T as a manager and they moved around frequently. Muhammad faced many challenges during his life span. He declared that Fard had been an incarnation of Allah and that he himself was now Allah’s messenger (biography.com). For forty-one year’s Muhammad spread the word of the Nation of Islam, slowly but steadily attracting new members (biography.com). In 1988 Osama bin Laden started the terrorist group al-Qaeda. Osama stole over 250 million dollars, and was already committing murders by then. In 1993 a bomb exploded in the World Trade Center area, the bomb was set off by al-Qaeda members. The bomb did not kill as many as the planes did, but killed up to 6 people and injuring many. In 1995 a bomb went off at a military base, and killed around 15 people, not only Americans were killed also Indian soldiers. In 1996 he called full jihad war on the US.
