Tate Langdon was a main character in the first season of American Horror Story. Tate was a ghost residing in the murder house. He first appeared in the first episode as a patient of Dr. Ben Harmon's. Tate had other brother and sisters but he is the only one of which not burdened by some sort of mental or physical defect, although he was shown to be psychologically disturbed. This is due largely to his father's absence and his mother's neglect as a child. Tate reached his breaking point in 1994 when he set his mother's boyfriend, Larry Harvey, on fire for murdering his brother with a pillow and then afterwards committed a mass shooting at Westfield High, taking the lives of 15 students (Wikia). Following the shooting, Tate returned home where he was killed by a SWAT team and since then has resided in the murder house. Tate has a very grunge-like appearance. His personality is described as empty and depressed, shown by bags under his eyes, and a dark demeanor. There is tension between him and his mother, Constance.
