Alice Waters was born on April 28, 1944,in Chatham, New Jersey. She is an American chef, activist, and author. In 1985, Waters got married to Stephen Singer and later gave birth to a daughter named Fanny. After that, Waters was named one of the Best Chefs in the world on August 15, 1983, Alice majored in French studies and spent her junior year abroad at the University of Paris. She accepted the James Beard Humanitarian award, and became enthralled by French food and how Europeans seemed to savour a meal. She was trained at the Montessori School, London. In 1967, she graduated from the University of California in Berkeley, California. After that, she became the Vice President of Slow Food International. Her opinion that buying from farmers market is cheaper and healthier, organic, fresh. The farmer's market brings out all the seasons and you can smell the sweet fresh fruits and it connects you to the cycle of the planet. Weingarten asked her that “President Clinton made the promise to plant an organic and it never happened. Do you think that approaching George. W. Bush would be a good idea”? She says that she has a letter addressed. Alice Waters has been an inspiration to people and has truly impacted them.

Alice Waters left an interesting legacy because she wanted to create something for everyone. In 1966, for example, she founded an Edible Schoolyard at the Martin Luther King school in California.
