In this passage we will be compering Alice Through the Looking Glass and Harry Potter and the Sorcer of Stone. We will be comparing the two movies by the plot, setting, and the characters. Between all of these things that the two movies are being compared on is that there are many similarities and differences. So sit back and enjoy this essay. In the setting of Harry Potter the Sorcerer's of Stone the characters are a Hogwarts a school for witchcraft and wizardry. Hogwarts is a dark scary and dangerous place for kids. There are dragons and three headed dogs name fluffy. The setting in Alice through the looking glass at first is like kind of dark but with a little light. In the Looking Glass Wars and Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, both Alyss and Alice are innocent, immature little girls who are just trying to understand the world around them. Because of their age they are very curious and they satisfy this curiosity by exploring. While they are exploring new things, it requires them to adapt to different lifestyles, which help them to better understand themselves and grow wiser.
Though very similar, the movie gives the themes something more. The way they approach a situation and how they show the symbols seem to relate the message clearer. The book does the same but some parts may not be as specific and relatable as the movie. But, both contain the two most important symbols, the eyes of Doctor T.J. Eckleburg and Owl Eyes. Without these two symbols, both the book and the movie would be impacted for the worst and leave major themes out of the storyline.
Alice in Wonderland starts when Alice “sees” a rabbit exclaiming it was going to be late. When Alice starts dreaming about the Wonderland it may have been a little strange, but she ends up realizing that it helps with her problems in the real world.

A classic in its own right, and a staple in nearly everyone’s film repertoire. The similarities between these two stories are numerous. Starting with the main heroines themselves. Both Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland, have a young girl as their main character. Even the character’s appearances and lines are similar. Both sporting a blue dress, and describing their fantasies as curious. When Dorothy arrives in Oz she says, “What a curious place”.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a story about a little girl who comes into contact with unpredictable, illogical, basically mad world of Wonderland by following the White Rabbit into a huge rabbit – hole. Everything she experiences there challenges her perception and questions common sense. This extraordinary world is inhabited with peculiar, mystical and anthropomorphic creatures that constantly assault Alice which makes her to question her fundamental beliefs and suffer an identity crisis. Nevertheless, as she woke up from “such a curious dream” she could not help but think “as well she might, what a wonderful dream it had been ”.

the bad. The main characters on the good side are Harry Potter and his two friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and on the bad the main character is Lord Voldomort. Harry Potter is a courageous, brave, and kind person. The whole series revolves around Harry Potter and Lord Voldomort. Ron Weasley is Harry’s closest friend and is not always the brightest but he is a good person who always stands with Harry no matter the situation. Hermione Granger is a book worm, straight A student who turns every assignment in on time and always does whatever her teachers tell her to do, and because of her skill and knowledge she has helped the trio out of several tight situations. Lord Voldomort is the most evil of the evil. His goal is to rule the world, kill every muggle (non magical people) so that only wizards are left and, most importantly, to conquer death. Through out the entire series Voldomort has tried to kill Harry a total of eight times but has failed all because of his short-sightedness and un-willingness to admit to his weaknesses.
