Alice Sebold's Significant Obstacles

247 Words1 Page

Significant obstacles are one of the hardest things that a person will face. Yet, why do we always rely on others to fix our obstacles? In lucky, Alice Sebold wanted her family to face her problems with her, she wanted them to save her and get her out of hole she was stuck in. Until she finally said to herself “you save yourself or you remain unsaved” (Sebold 61). She realized that no one else will understand the obstacle you have endured. In her case the situation was rape. Her family wasn’t the affectionate kind and they didn't understand the way that she felt, the way the obstacle was slowly taking over her life. She was paranoid to go outside in the neighborhood, her thoughts consumed of rape, and even her assignments were all about rape.
