Agents of socialization are the individuals, groups and institutions that create the social context in which socialization takes place.There has been a couple of agents of socialization that have shaped the way I am. The main purpose of school is to transfer subject knowledge and teach life school such as following directions. School thought me to follow authority and behave even if I had to be punished. For my self in my first years of school in Mexico I learned to follow direction and behave since the punishment were more severe then here. They also show how to be quiet, to wait and to act interest at times and pay attention. My teacher from 5th grade was the most important person from this agent of socialization. She was the one who took her time and patience to teach me English when I moved to the United States. Friends help one be more social, to have fun, and to be there an experience new things. They are also the ones who you are more yourself and that one can identify with much better. My friends have helped me realize how a person that is not family can become family because of there actions. They help me be trust people more and be more outgoing so I won 't regret not doing it. They also help me on my confidence and push me to do better. One of my friends that had a lot of influence on me was my friend David. David has always been there for me and has never giving me a no for an answer. He is an example how a person that is not related to you can become family because of their actions. He would also tell me to stop voting or not to do something. He would tell me when I was doing something wrong and help me fix it.
