In the graphic novel Persepolis written by Marjane Satrapi.Marji's strong family connections and unique view on faith are what helped her through the conflicts she faced as a result of growing up in war torn Iran.Marji’s family helped her in a number of ways but the most important way was that they made sure Marji was educated and always knew the truth about the revolution.Marji's parents also make decisions that would help Marji avoid adversity such as deciding to send there then only 14-year-old daughter away to Austria to help her escape possible persecution. The concept of faith is also widely explored throughout the novel as Marji uses her unique connection with god to overcome the serious issues a child growing up in Iran would have to face. Both the concepts of family and faith in the face of adversity are seen throughout the novel.

Marji's parents made sure that she was provided with a golden education and that she always knew the truth about the revolution occurring in her homeland. The result of Marji's education meant she always knew right from wrong and was always ready to stand up for what …show more content…
