Social media is a relatively recent phenomenon. The beauty of social media is in its versatility. For example, I use my Facebook account to connect with people both continents away, and my classmates, to keep up with the latest news to read a few jokes, and just keep up with what all my friends are doing.
Social networks have been constructed as the means of meetings in order to build online communities of people with similar interests and activities, which could be more convenient for exchanging messages, following the latest trends, participating in many activities. -In simple words social media marketing is a great tool to understand the market demand and make people aware of others ideas. Social media has many advantages and benefits that one can enjoy.
It leads to Increased Brand Recognition as social networks are new channels for our brand’s voice and content, it makes you more familiar and recognizable eg: A facebook user could hear about your company for the first time only after getting newsfeed. It enables enables companies to talk to their customers, eliminating any confusion.
Social media provides high brand loyalty from customers , thus helping companies to attract more customers. Another study published by ( C.Convert 2014) found that 53% of Americans who follow brands in social are more loyal to those brands.
Inspite of being very advantageous social media has disadvantages also which leads to problems.
Social media doesn’t include face to face conversation does leading to misunderstanding sometimes between the company and the customer. sometimes it even gives wrong image of the ideas one is looking for does cheating

Currently, social media is the most popular method of communicating and interacting with others. It is a methodology to new media as it changes and evolves with our needs and expectations. Social media has evolved and adapted to become a huge part of our personal and professional lives.
Social media in marketing is used as an apparatus that builds an identity for a brand and gives awareness that they thought they could have. It does not only respect buyers, but also customer allegiance. Social media is widely-ranged so it can be used in whatever way that best conforms to the strategy and wants of the business. In accordance to the social media marketing report of 2014, a considerable (64%) of marketers use social media for at least 6 hours or more and 41% for 11 hours or more weekly, more importantly nearly (19%) of marketers use up to 20 hours each week on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and many more. The report also showed 7 social media platforms that led in 2014 which are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Youtube, Pinterest and Instagram.
With the numbers of people using social media, marketers are quickly coming to understand how it can be an important and effective tool to create a positive influence and relationships with consumers, customers, and other businesses. Consumers will use social media to learn about new goods and services, conduct research, and share information in order to make a choice. Sites such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter are among those that consumers commonly rely on to learn about new goods and services. Blogs and social networking sites are useful to conduct research and study a topic in depth, which can carry a lot of weight in making a purchasing decision. By studying these consumers and the modes of social media they use, businesses are able to gather data. Marketers can then use this data to develop social media marketing campaigns.

Social media marketing is a new trend of marketing where different Businesses have taken to social media sites to market and promote old and existing products and brands or create more awareness of their new products.
