I think adults should not be taking naps during the day. It is a waste of time and effort. People might think it helps, but it leaves you groggy and ineffectual after you wake up. Reaserch showes that you’ll have a low rate of heart attacks, but it also take times from their busy lives. Adults are old enough and mature enough to know what is causing them their afternoon sleepiness. Find a solution to that core problem. If you decide to take a nap you will be doing it incorrectly and sleep longer than what you would have been “refreshed” by that time. Napping take away work time and personal time that you will have to make up later. In some companies they have “nap-pods” but that will just encourage their emploies to nap during work, wich will
end up having lazy uneffective emploies that get nothing done. Napping will lead to a greater need for napping, wich will only add to the problem. What people should do if they have a napping problem should be a good night sleep, if your night sleep gets interupted then find what is keeping you from sleeping and quickly fix the problem. Have a good balanced meal, and have an organized day prepared, know how much you sleep each night and try to get more hours of sleep in at nigh! Not in the middle of the day when you need to be doing other things. An organized planner for the day will help you a lot, and finding the core problem to your loosing of sleep at night. Coffee and apples help too!

Would you think naps are good during the day? Yes or no?? Well according to the article In source #2 it states “ The researchers found that napping improves memory, but not alertness”. However, i think that napping is not good and because if it only improved memory and not alertness that's NOT good at all!

Also according to the many research done by United States, United Kingdom and Australia (sleep. 2014) a person usually needs to sleep for a certain amount of time depending on if it is a weekday or weeknight. Adults are supposed to sleep between ‘6 to 9 hours per night’ (sleep. 2014). However, according to sleep polls that had been undertaken by United States in 2009 and in 1998, 6 hours per night sleeping had increased from ‘12 percent in 1998 to 20 percent in 2009’(sleep. 20149. REM decreases after a night of sleep for ‘100 minute’ every night (MARZANO et al, 2010). On the other hand, there had been a decrease during the same period when the poll was created to see the average of individuals sleep for 8 hours’ (sleep.2014). For 8 hours there had decrease from ‘35 percent of people to 28 percent (sleep. 2014). In the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, adults have an average less than 7 hours of sleep per night during weekdays, which is not enough due to the amount of work they have during the day and can lead to disorders.
Some parents of infants think co-sleeping is beneficial, however; experts do believe that this practice is very dangerous. Every parent has the decision to co-sleep (sharing a bed with your baby), its weather they do or not that counts. There are reasons parents decide for or against, for example; if you’re a heavy sleeper, you might accidently roll over and suffocate your child. In conclusion, the moderately enhanced results leads to think that the naps did have positive effects on all three test results, but not to the extend that was hypothesized. Perhaps a more ordered and organized napping and sleep schedule would allow for greater and more significant improvements. A further analysis in the domain of effects of napping on performance, either cognitive or physical, should strive to measure the impact of tightly arranged schedule to allow for naps to occur at relatively the same time everyday, as well as having a similar length, paired with comparable amount of sleep the night prior to engaging in napping. This would allow assessing the true effects of naps on an individual much more effectively.

What is known about sleep is that human beings sleep about 1/3 of their lives (National Sleep Foundation [NSF]). Sleep is considered a beautiful function for the human body, the ability to shut the mind and have a somewhat “reboot” every time, feeling refreshed the next day. Of course, it’s well known to everyone that sleep is very beneficial. Sadly enough, many people are not getting enough sleep as they should be. The average adult has to have at least 7 to 8 hours, but the average hours of sleep is 6.5 (Geyer, Talachi and Carney). On this planet called Earth, humans have evolved to where artificial light has been created and how work is never done. There are times where the night shift, sometimes called the graveyard shift, is needed. Humans were not meant to be nocturnal, but many people seem to enjoy the night life. Without sleep, there are very serious consequences. The “sleep debt”, which means the hours that a person has lost, needs to be repaid (citation). There are short-term to long-term issues when there is no sleep. There ways to solve this. Sometimes many people have nights where they cannot sleep, so they take certain items or eat special foods to help go to sleep. Those choices must be careful, prescriptions for sleep are not as beneficial as, does more harm than good. There is more to sleep than just closing the eyes.
